Bills/Broncos

Post by Mike the Lab Rat »

Props to the Broncos.

The loss was freaking gut-wrenching for me because, once again, the Bills teased us with flashes of good football, only to choke it away on big defensive plays at the end. Giving up huge chunks of yardage in the last seconds of the game and letting Elam have a shot was inexcusable.

J.P. Losman was embarrassingly quiet for the whole game, not because of any utterly brilliant scheming by Shanahan, but because the guy -even after three freaking years- just can't seem to make a throw when it absolutely, positively HAS to happen. Overthrowing Evans late in the game was all on HIM. All we needed was one freaking TD out of the guy, and once again, even when given time, he couldn't do it. He'd better get his head out of his ass or he'll join Todd Collins, Billie Joe Hobert [sp?], and Drew Bledsoe on the "failed experiment" pile.

Now, on the "plus" side...Marshawn FREAKING Lynch. The kid is the real deal. I'm not ready to anoint him as the second coming of Thurman Thomas (as some have), but he's pretty damned good. The 25-yard TD, and the way he kept going after the frigging hit the took on a 4th down that knocked his helmet off and ten yards backwards...wow.

I think that the Bills are going to be better than a lot of the alleged "experts" have been predicting, even given their brutal schedule.

And finally, I was happy to see my favorite Bill, Steve Tasker, honored on the Bills Wall of Fame. It sucks that the HOF voters in Canton will probably never get their collective heads out of THEIR asses and finally put (probably) the best special teams player ever in the HOF.

I was amazed that Denver got their FG unit out so quickly. Congrats to Tasker as well.

The Bills just lost half their starting secondary for the season today.

Damn!

Thoughts and prayers for Kevin Everett who is in emergency surgery as we speak for a spinal injury sustained on the 2nd half kickoff.

And now the Bills get to travel down to Heinz Field for the Steelers season opener. Hot tip of the week. Buy stock in a Western NY shower rod concession.

just a brutal game to watch....

Denver's defense saved them....for the most part, the offense sucked monkey testicles (s'up not Travis Henry)....

M. Lynch looked like he more than belongs in this league.

Cutler played up and down.
He clearly has some ability, but needs to tighten his game up some.
Above the neck.

Elam can keep missing kicks next week, btw.

But as mistake-prone as Dungver was, I think a microcosm of the Donkeys under Shanarat was the final 15 seconds.
They got their kick team on, composed, and functioning in a REMARKABLY quick and calm fashion.

Kick good.

I like Oakland playing in Denver in September, but I can't see the Raiders pulling off a win next week.

The injury report was confirmed today...and well, the Bills have lost two guys for the rest of the season and Coy Wire may be out for four weeks. Given that info...[sigh]...I think the Bills will wind up doing as badly as the pundits predicted.

Holy shit. A day after they said Everett’s life was in danger, and that his outlook was dismal, now they’re optimistic that he’ll walk again. Excellent news.
