Fouad Hussein-Al-Zarqawi: The Second Generation of Al Qaeda
Jerry Doyle went into this on his show a few months ago. Hussein is a Jordanian journalist and was a political prisoner. He had a chance to speak with senior Islamic militants. Interesting. Six stages. Somewhat cryptic, actually.
In the book Hussein describes what he says is al-Qaeda's grand strategy, a sequence of events that spreads over nearly 20 years.
----------------------------------------------
The first phase, "The Awakening", began with the September 11th attacks, which were meant to lure the United States into military conflict in the Middle East. This stage, Hussein says, ended with the American capture of Baghdad in early April 2003.
In the second phase, "Eye-Opening", al-Qaeda will become more than just an organization but a popular trend fueled by the American occupation of Iraq and the Arab media through mediums like the internet. This will last through 2006.
During the third stage, which he calls "Arising and Standing Up", al-Qaeda will begin focusing its energies on attacking the secular governments in Syria and Turkey and also against Israel.
When this ends in 2010, the fourth stage will work to continue weakening American stength in the Middle East while also causing the capitulation of governments across the Arab world.
In the fifth stage, from 2013 to 2016, Hussein says the Islamic movement will have shifted the balance of power in the Middle East away from the West and Israel, and the Islamists will be supported by new allies such as China. In this environment a new caliphate will be established.
The sixth phase, lasting until 2020, is that of "Total Confrontation", when an Islamic army and newly formed caliphate will defeat the non-believers in a global conflict. Following this, a final phase will be that of the caliphate's "definitive victory".

Re: Fouad Hussein-Al-Zarqawi: The Second Generation of Al Qa
Yeah, let me know how that whole "global domination" thing works out for them.
If any Middle Easterner thinks they can win in a game of Cowboys and Arabs, they probably made an error in the math somewhere.
It worked. And the USA was very foolish to do so.
Although hindsight is usually pretty clear...
A better idea might have been... in response to 9/11 -- give the innocent folks of Kabul about 2 days warning. Drop millions of fliers over the city, informing the residents that they need to leave town, as the city is going to be removed from the map at Such-and-Such date and time.
If AQ/Taliban lift one finger to carry out any further plans against the USA, we move on to City #2. All fliers/propaganda that is dropped should very clearly outline what is going on, and why. Explain that by having been warned, that the Afghanis are being given a much greater chance at survival than our innocent citizens, who weren't given the chance to flee first. Explain that it was their government's policy that forced this action, and only by ending their support/complacency towards their government will the cycle of destruction be ended.
Quick, effecient, effective, and easy on American troops. Buty wait... PNAC doesn't make nearly as much cayshe off that setup... nevermind.

They live under despotic dictatorships, remember? They didn't choose their governments by majority votes.Dinsdale wrote:Explain that it was their government's policy that forced this action, and only by ending their support/complacency towards their government will the cycle of destruction be ended.
But go ahead and incinerate innocent civilians anyway, 'cause you're soooo much better than Al Queda.
And all the while, remind yourselves that it's your freedom they hate.

Hence the need to warn those in harm's way.

You must have me confused for someone who bought into that laughably inaccurate bullshit in the first place.

Perhaps you should text message every villager on their personal iPhone and request they gas up their
Hummers and head to their summer cottages for the weekend.
Then again, with wireless internet access all over Afghanistan, they should have no problem receiving warning
e-mails on their laptops at the local IshtarBucks.

What part of "drop fliers" are you struggling with?
The "drop," or the "fliers" part?
It's a technique that's been used for decades and decades. Anyone who values their life would heed the warning, anyone who doesn't meets Mr Darwin.
Pretty simple.
While I believe that the US foreign policy is a complete disaster, and its 60 years of miscalculations have brought much harm to this country, I'm also not one to take an attack on US soil lightly.
Attack this country, and your largest city becomes rubble... period. EOS. Not up for debate. You get 3 days warning to get your ass out of town... after that... KABOOM. Nothing left but memories. Hopefully with as few civilian casulaties as possible. An aggressive regime wouldn't have to lose too many of their major cities, if only the infrastructure rather than lives, before they'd have a different view of aggression towards foreign nations.

Retributions killings.
How civilized of you.
Who needs a Constitution when you have the Old Testament? Perhaps you can fit in some flogging of
menstruating women while your at it.

Yeah, he was on there. He was blackballed in Hollywood when he 'came out' as a Republican and ran for Representative in California. Intelligent host. He left the Republican party a few years ago. Is now a conservative independent.Dr_Phibes wrote:Is Jerry Doyle that Babylon 5 guy? That plot sounds just like season four

'The Fall Of Centauri Prime'
spooky.[...]
and they will take the Centauri Republic out of the Interstellar Alliance. By doing this the Centauri will be left alone in the galaxy, with no friends or allies, and thus the Drakh will have no one to interfere with them. When Londo refuses their demands, they tell him that they have planted nuclear fusion bombs underneath the planet's major cities, and that unless Londo agrees to their terms they will detonate the bombs, killing billions of people and completely destroying what is left of Centauri civilization. Realizing that he has no choice, Londo agrees.

Regarding civilian casualties, anyone ever notice the ridiculous efforts that the US military makes to avoid civilian deaths?? What the fuck is so hard to observe? We are fighting people who aim to kill civilians 24 hours a day, in our country and their own cities. Yet we still abide by the Democrats' beloved rules of engagement which makes it easier for the enemy to survive. Ever since Vietnam that's been the case. They can hit us ruthlessly, but we can't bring it back their way because we are civilized. Imagine the American outrage if during WW2 Congress tried to tell us that we can't bomb Berlin? Or knock Japan out for good? The public would laugh. This is war.
Ever read Wildfire, the Nelson Demille book? Pretty wild concept, sometimes I wish it was there just in case.

we are finally doing now what we needed to do from the beginning, which is going in heavier. still not heavy enough, imo, but, i guess we just don't have the resources to go any heavier for long.
wiping cities off the map wouldn't have helped. there has been one instance where we should have and that was the mountain range that dipshit was hiding in.
i just hope that the dems flat out treasonous behavior is enough to wake up america while we still can win this fukking thing.

the japs thought the same thing in 1941. We are fatter dumber and lazier, but, when americans finally realize that is us or them, i think we will finally take the gloves off, or atleast go to a thinner set of gloves.Martyred wrote:Your country is fat, lazy and soft.MickBastard wrote:Regarding civilian casualties, anyone ever notice the ridiculous efforts that the US military makes to avoid civilian deaths?? We were attacked by 19 guys with box cutters. They weren't from a country.
Whose largest city is supposed to pay? Afghanistan? Saudi Arabia?
What demented childish twaddle do you stuff your head with to come up with such gibberish?
As for the"plan" of Al Qaeda, America is certainly doing its part to enhance and strengthen the box cutter brigade. Perhaps if we sink another TRILLION dollars into destroying another uninvolved country, promoting more hysteria based on lies and smears, we'll "win."
