Bengals and Browns- newest ARENA LEAGUE franchises
Brownstains- 51
Ben-Gals- 45
1,085 yards TOTAL OFFENSE between the two teams.
Carson Palmer- SIX TD PASSES...and STILL lost.
Derek Anderson- FIVE TD PASSES....he had five total TDs LAST YEAR.
Holy FUCK...If you allow 51 points and 554 total yards to the fucking CLEVELAND BROWNS, your franchise should be shut down NOW.

Nice offense you got, tubby. 13 points in two games. At that rate you’ll hit 100 in week 17.

I wonder how pissed you'll be in week 6 when the soon-to-be-contracted-arena-league Bengals beat the fuck piss out of KC.
Props to the Browns for making a mockery out of the Bengals "defense". I had some cautious optimism after the MNF game that the D would be decent enough to not blow games, so much for that. No excuse for giving up 51 points to a Derek Anderson led offense but losing Ahmad Brooks early really hurt and losing Joseph in the second half was the final nail needed. Like I said though that doesn't excuse the lame attempts at tackling throughout the game. It was a horrible deja vu watching Jamal Lewis run all over the Bengals!!!
Congrats on the big win Q.
Cincy really needed a 2-0 start with a roadie to Seattle and a MNF visit from the Pats upcoming. A 1-3 start is a very distinct possibility right now.

What part of members of your own fanbase despise you do you fail to comprehend? You want to call out other teams, and then bail on your own. Hey Shine... I fully expect the Chiefs to break a shaft off in the Bungles ass in their return to Arrowhead in week 6. Don't be surprised if there's a bounty placed on Carson Palmers head in payback for that cheap shot Geathers took on Trent Green last year. There's not a fan in KC who wouldn't chip in to help pay the fine.
Bring it on. Payback is going to be a bitch.

I had Palmer as well. Huge week for me...had Palmer, Gore, Barber III, Galloway and Dallas' defense...my team put up 134.5. That's with two 100-yard receivers on the bench to boot.mvscal wrote:Glad I benched Ronnie Clown for Jamal Lewis this week. Lewis and Palmer alone came close to winning the game for me.

I assume you're talking about the play that didn't draw a penalty flag from the on-field officials and didn't generate a fine or suspension from the league upon video review. That "cheap shot". Football is a contact sport played at a high rate of speed. Sometimes shit happens and dudes get hurt, doesn't make the hit "cheap". I didn't like seeing Green hurt so badly, especially since he's one of the few Hoosiers in the NFL, but the reason he got dinged so bad was the fact that his dome bounced off the grass so hard. Geathers didn't even hit him in the head.War Wagon wrote:Don't be surprised if there's a bounty placed on Carson Palmers head in payback for that cheap shot Geathers took on Trent Green last year.
As for a bounty on Palmer, been there done that. (see: Cobra Kai Cowher, sweep the leg)

I've seen much less flagrant hits flagged for roughing.
When a QB slides feet first, he's giving himself up, made even more vulnerable, and is not supposed to be hit, period. It doesn't matter that it wasn't a helmet to helmet shot. The refs and the league totally blew that call.
But you know what? That makes not one bit of difference. They could've fine and or suspended Geathers and Green would've still suffered a severe and possibly career ending concussion.
Carson had better grow a pair of eyes in the back of his head. Gunther's probably had a target drawn on his dome since the schedule first came out.

Again WW, football is a contact sport played at a high rate of speed. Geathers had already left his feet to make a tackle before Green ever went into his slide. I'm not sure how it'd have been possible to change trajectory in mid-air in under 1 second. Not only do I think no NFL player has that type of athletic capacity in them, CERTAINLY nobody on the Bengals defense does!!! That's why the league got it right and didn't do anything. The injury Green suffered was beyond unfortunate but it is just one of those things that can happen in football. The hit was hard, not flagrant.
Based on the moronic postings of KC fans on this board it wouldn't surprise me to know that the organization had such low class individuals employed that they'd contemplate and go out of their way to purposely cause injury to another player.

Absolutely disagree on Geathers leaving his feet before Green went into his slide, Shine. Arguing that point makes you just as much a homer as Wags calling for Geathers' head on account of dirty play.
While I'd entertain an argument that some form of contact might not have been avoidable due to momentum, Geathers went for a kill shot ... plain and simple. Doesn't mean he wanted to end Green's season or career, but Geathers went for the type of hit that Green would remember next time he decided to scramble.
Other than the fact it should have drawn a pentalty flag, which is a complaint concerning the officiating, I have zero problems with the hit or intent of same.
It's football. Shit happens.

Horseshit. It's obvious Green was going to slide waaay before Geathers launched himself. If you can't ascertain that quite certain evidence from the video, then you're only seeing what you want to see.peter dragon wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIrzOrPUfX4

Right. A 185 wideout with a glancing push really effected the impact. :roll:plus kennison is pushing Geathers into green..
If you ever watched that replay from the other side, you can see that Kennison barely touched him, much less drove him into Green. He didn't need any fucking help.

No big deal? Speak for yourself, and yourself only. You damn sure won't be speaking for the 78,000 or so paying customers at Arrowhead that will most certainly want to exact some form of revenge.orcinus wrote: No big deal. I was pointing out the fact there's not the bloodlust over the incident some might lead you to believe.
The thug almost ended Green's career, ruined what should have been a promising season, and most certainly got him run from KC.
But it's "no big deal", eh?
I could give a fuck what his intent was or if he regrets it. The result is the only thing that matters.
Oh, so now defensive players are supposed to guess whether the QB is going to slide or not, and give him a free pass if they think he might slide?War Wagon wrote:Horseshit. It's obvious Green was going to slide waaay before Geathers launched himself.
How about instead of all that barbaric tackling, they just play flag football instead?
Dude, that was a pansy-assed comment, even for you.

How about instead you learn the particulars of the QB slide rule?Dinsdale wrote: How about instead of all that barbaric tackling, they just play flag football instead?
There was no guesswork involved. Look at the video again. It's quite obvious to anyone with a functioning cerebral cortex that he was going to slide feet first, way before the "tackler" (I use that term loosely, since just how in fuck does one "tackle" somebody laying prone) launched himself.
I agree with WW, it's clearly been established that the best way to go for a "kill shot" and take a "cheap shot" at another player is to start rolling sideways and hit them with a glancing blow with your shoulder as you roll your back toward them. Guaranteed to do major damage every single time.
I know that little things like truth and facts don't slow your mongoloid mind from sparking up enough brain power to mash your fingers into a keyboard and spew forth blather, but how exactly was the KC season any more promising than the playoff appearance that they got?? Oh let me guess, if Green hadn't gotten a concussion in week 1 KC would have been able to defeat the likes of the Colts, Pats and Chargers in the playoffs. Riiiiiight.
