Both teams have disappointingly run the ball like girls.

Is disappointingly a werd, Dinsdale?
I'll wait.

Ok ..... KC is feeble up front, and that's a major problem.
They lack speed at WR, and that's a problem.
They have a very mediocre QB, and that's not helping.
Their coach recently used the world 'flustrated' during a Monday morning media session.
I laffed at him.
He's not real bright.

The Hooterville defense isn't half bad, but their nice looking stats are misleading to the simple minded among us.
Other teams know the Chef offense will score as often as jtr, and so their own offense just plays not to lose the game.
Very vanilla stuff -- don't risk, just get some points on the board and it'll be enough to win the game.
So it looks like Hooterville is stopping the other team, but the other team is playing a little bit of turtle.

Bottom line is the Chefs pretty much blow.

A little better.
Highly dissappointing so far on offense though, and especially running the ball.
Lady T nearly cried after last week's game, and he usually waits for public bawling until the post-season.
The Blots hired themselves a Nancy of a coach.
I'm not a wise GM, owner, or anything such what, but I wouldn't have done that.

Honestly, I have no fuckin' idea how this game will play out.

LT and LJ might suddenly become what everyone thought they'd be before the season started... or not. I guess I'm liking LJ's chances of getting untracked a bit more than LT's for the simple fact that KC's defense is much improved. Then again, on the road, who the fuck knows? LT could light us the fuck up, one way or another. Let's call it a push in this category for now.

Passing game? Well, Bowe is starting to show that he was a legit first round draft pick. Dude has made some sick catches on some poorly thrown balls. They need to throw more balls his way and let him go get 'em. T-Gon is still T-Gon, and will get his. KC needs to open up the playbook some and throw more on 1st down, when they're expecting an LJ run.

Gates? I hates that guy. He can single handedly beat you. 'nuf said.

Huard has looked lost at times, and scared to death, but at least he hasn't been turning the ball over. As for Rivers, haven't seen his play enough yet this year to even comment. I'll leave that up to blot fan.

As previously stated, the Chiefs D is greatly improved. I think they'll keep us in the game. It will probably come down to a special teams play or two and a late FG wins it.

The Chargers are certainly feeling the effects of losing both DC Wade Philips and OC Cam Cameron. The offense I think will come around but I'm not sure about the defense. DC Ted Cotrell looks seriously over matched, the blitz packages have been vanilla (dropping Merriman into coverage? :x )and opposing QBs are allowed too much time and comfort in the pocket, hence the team sucks defending the pass. Losing LBs Donnie Edwards and Randal Godfrey also has softened up the middle of the defense.

I think this is the week LT gets back on track, and I do expect the Chiefs to keep it close for a while, but I think the Bolts pull away in the 4th quarter.

Brett Farve has been to the Chargers what Barry Bonds is to the Padres.......a killer. Giving the ball back to Favre with a couple of minutes to go at Lambeau was a mistake.

This week the Chargers won't be facing Tom Brady or Brett Favre on the road.

Oh yeah....Norv still sucks and the Chargers ought to replace Cotrell with Ron Rivera.

I think the Norv Turner hire was an easy choice once it was decided Marty was gone. He was a "comfort" hire, bringing the same playbook, the offense was all smiles. Truth is the team needed to be shook up, to be more disciplined and smarter, as opposed to maintaining the status quo.

The Tuna might make them more disciplined. Not too sure about smarter though. One thing they will get is a very vanilla 3-4 defensive scheme and mroe than likely a stale offensive playcaller. Not really sure how that would change things from their current situation.

That had nothing to do with it. A.J. Smith learned his craft from John Butler, another power hungry loon who would have ruined the Chargers the same way he did Buffalo had not his 2 pack a day habit finally caught up to him. It was only a matter of time before he would try to impose his own regime on Shottenhiemer. He tried and Marty told him to piss up a rope. By the end of this season you'll be begging for a return to Martyball.

Too bad the Chargers window for winning a championship will have closed by then. In the meantime, they would have been better off hiring Ron Rivera, or Russ Grimm (both of whom were available) instead of picking up the worst possible retread one could imagine. The difference between you and I is about 20 years watching the Chargers, most of them shit.

No talent, no coaching, no GM, shit owner.

GM AJ Smith is the best thing that has happened to the Chargers since Bobby Ross. The team actually has some talent and AJ has produced most of it through the draft. He's untouchable IMO, and if he were fired you can bet he wouldn't be out of work long.

When Marty was hired I didn't like the hire and posted so at TNW. My take then was Marty will make the Chargers competitive but wouldn't get it done come playoff time. I know, I know, I'm a genius......

I did appreciate the Marty run Chargers domination over the hated primer & soot though.

After the 14-2 season and first rd exit, firing Marty wasn't real popular here in SD. The Chargers were going to have Marty finish his contract (no extension offered) and I believe AJ wanted Wade Philips to take over in 2008. When Dallas hired Wade they pulled the rug out from under AJ.

I think Philips is a hell of a DC, I'm not sure about HC, perhaps he'll have a better run than in Denver/ Buffalo, but he is winless in the post season as a HC.

Anyway once Marty realized the Chargers were not going to extend him, he made sure not to cooperate when AJ was trying to find a new DC. Hence the firing, with Marty not having to work to receive his full paycheck.

I believe AJ made the mistake of not doing enough of an in depth search before hiring Norv, because the Chargers still run the offense that he implemented when he was the OC. Basically trying to keep Tomlinson, Rivers Gates and the Oline happy. I was hoping Jeff Fisher was going to be let go in TN last year, he wasn’t, but he's the type of coach I'd like to see at the helm in SD.

If Norv stinks it up too bad he won't be around next season. I do believe if Marty was still the HC the Chargers would have many of the same problems, the defense greatly improved under Wade.

Norv's ineptness has been well documented with the Redskins, so HH you're not saying anything that hasn't been written or said out of my mouth a million times.
