Quick thoughts on Cubs and NLDS

Post by Shine »

I love that Zambrano will be on the road to open the series, MUCH better pitcher away from Wrigley.

Game 1 is huge because the Dbacks need to win every Webb start. A Cubs opening win sets the tone for the series.

Offense isn't as much of a factor, typically anyway, in the postseason so that bodes well for the Dbacks.

I nearly crap myself everytime Ryan Dempster comes in to close out a game.

I look for Derek Lee to come up with some clutch hits and for Soriano to hit very well.

Arizona has a very large contingent of Cubs fan so the home crowd will be somewhat negated. (fat lot of good that did in the Marlins series though!!!)

Last time the Cubs made the playoffs my wife was pregnant. She's pregnant again. I really hope the Cubs finally win the whole fucking thing because I don't want another kid, but if that's what it takes to get the Cubs back in the playoffs...

Cubs in 4
"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

The Cubs just wasted a double by Zambrano with no outs. Soriano strikes out way too much for a leadoff guy.
