...get rid of that senile old man Lou Holtz???

Not only did he pick ND to beat Boston College this weekend (he's picked them to win every game this year) but then he came up with this gem:

A question from some guy in Kings Beach, CA; "Everyone always says USC or Cal in the Pac-10. What about ASU's chances?"

Lou: "I think Arizona State has got an excellent chance. They're gonna win their first 7 football games. Their last 3 or 4 are gonna be difficult but I think
with the way Sam Keller is their quarterback is playing so well I think that they have an excellent chance to win the Pac-10."

Uh Lou, ND put-up 144 freaking yards against UCLA. Ya they played some D but the Bruins lost because of seven turnovers, SEVEN. That goes into pus-oozing scabdick territory.

Keller hasn't played a game at ASU since '05.

Your career is college football and you are saying this on national tv? Nice.

I was gonna say...

Ain't that namke a blast-from-the-PAC10-past?

Although, I will give Hotlz some limited props for not managing to drop a "USC invented cancer" into his PAC10 rants.

It's pretty sad really.
ESPN just needs to not bring him back next year. It would also help cut back on janitorial costs with less floor mopping and stuff.

Because Ducks always have the funniest signs.

Right before heading to the game, I had Gameday on in the early morning (remember, that shit starts at 7AM on the Left Coast), and someone had a sign right in the sweet spot of the cameras... "Dennis Dixon -- Putting the 'high' into Heisman."

I laughed.

And my little group got a little disoriented after the game(gee, wonder why?), and my buddy I went with had to wander around a little to find where we'd parked/tailgated (dude, if we didn't cross the river to get to the stadium, why did you think crossing it after the game would get you back to the lot?... drunk bastard, following hotties back to campus). Anyhoo, he ended up running into, and making fast friends with one Lee Corso while staggering around drunk... and came back with an autographed hat to prove it. Pretty epic when he finally made it back -- "duuude, what took you so long?" "I was hanging out with that Lee Corso dude... he's cool." "Oh... did you ask him he manages to not fucking kill Lou Holtz?" "Didn't make it that far."

UnRack him for not hunting Holtz down, and tying some heavy weights to him, and conveniently dumping him in the river next to the stadium... I'm still hating on him for that... it was in his grasp. You can't tell me Corso wouldn't have helped.

I think Holtz was across the country in Bristol. Doesn't he hang in the studio?

Good story though.

Actually, I think you're right. Not really sure, since I've learned to tune out the frequency of his voice.

I'll still continuing hating on my buddy for not getting Corso to commit to a plan to have Holtz meet an untimely end.

Over at one of the OU homer boards, they have a brainstorming thread for signs for this weekend's ESPN College Gameday. While 99% of the ideas are so bad I'm thinking of moving, there are a few gems. Quoth sooner fans:

But by far the best...

Kalfan had the same sign at gameday when they recorded that epic moral victory over us...

"Shock SC"
