JoePa running smack. Too many off the field distractions. Bet the farm on Wisconsin.
Already trying to run interference on several off-the-field incidents involving his players, Joe Paterno confirmed Wednesday that he, too, has run into some trouble.
The Penn State football coach acknowledged he had a verbal confrontation with a female driver last week following a near accident on campus. Paterno discussed the incident while addressing a crowd of more than 300 people at the Penn State Quarterback Club luncheon. The weekly gathering is not open to the media, but the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, citing multiple sources who attended, gleaned details about the coach's exchange for a story it published Thursday.
It is not clear how the close call occurred. According to the Post-Gazette's report, Paterno told the luncheon he pulled his car over to the curb, got out and approached the other vehicle. He shook his finger at the driver and warned her to, "Watch it."
"Be careful," Paterno said, according to the newspaper's report. "I have your license number, and I will call the police on you."
According to the Post-Gazette's sources, Paterno said a male passenger then walked up and chastised him, saying, "That's my wife you're talking to."
"That's your problem," Paterno reportedly replied.
The woman then snapped at Paterno. "I'm going to call the police on you," she said. Paterno reportedly asked the woman if she was from Kansas City.
Props on the beatdown PSU. You know, with 16 starters returning and promising replacements at QB and LT, this season looked extremely promising. But the Badgers have been extremely weak up the middle (MLB and both safeties), and overall the tackling has been piss-poor.
Having to play two true freshmen at wide receiver isn’t helping. This is now looking like a 4-5 loss team. Nice game by the Nittany Lions. My father-in-law made the road trip. I’ll be interested in what he has to say about Happy Valley.

I'm surprised at how easily UW was dispatched...then again, PSU was gift-wrapped just about everything. #14 can perform adequately if EVERYTHING is going his way, and it did on Saturday. The PSU HC didn't have a chance to throw a wet blanket on anything, and the Lions played up to their potential.

Shoulda just listened to what I said before the year Goober. You didn't seriously think your team was even remotely close to being as good as your ranking at any point in the season, did you?? Come on, you beat nobody last year except Arkansas and that win had more to do with them playing embarrasingly bad than Wisconsin playing well. That was a gift wrap win. Like I said a couple weeks ago before they even lost a game.....if you haven't figured out yet that Wisconsin isn't any good then you either don't know anything about football or haven't seen them play. Hey, at least I know Iowa sucks. I'm not on here saying we're any good when we're not. We suck, Wisconsin sucks, the Big-10 sucks. Those are 3 facts.
I'm right on the money on more predictions than you guys give me credit for. My betting record may not be so hot, but most of my other picks are pretty good.
But this prediction is different because I was even more opinionated than normal and Goober continually disagreed with me calling me every name in the book (most likely because it pained him so much that I was right) and tried telling me how great UW is and now he was proven wrong and I was proven right and his only response is that lame post. Come on.....you gotta admit, that response was pretty effing lame.
He hates it when I'm right, much like you probably hate it that I'm always right about Notre Dame.
