Exceptions aside, the SEC appears less willing to travel outside of their region than other schools. I think on the whole, teams from other conferences have played, and are willing to play, more OOC games on the road.

Georgia has not scheduled a game outside of the south since 1965
Auburn has not won a road game OOC this century
Florida hasnt played an OOC game outside of Florida in more than 15 years
When the NCAA approved of the 12th game giving SEC teams a 4th OOC game, the ADs of SEC schools petitioned the NCAA to allow them to play more D2 and D1aa teams
Ohio State and Michigan both left the ranks of teams to have never played a D1aa team this season, of the 6 teams left that have still not played 1aa teams, 5 of them are from the Pac 10

OSU fan has come correct this year about scheduling...many times in the preseason...we have all made our thoughts known about how horrible it was...but face it...

Washington was scheduled when they were making rose bowls and winning 9-11 games a year...Syracuse was on the schedule but dropped us...we scheduled that back when they were deece...I make no bones about this year at all...but to think that PSU, Wisconsin, ILL, MSU, and Michigan are just going to be cake walks is absurd...

also I have watched a TON of SEC football this year and there isn't much in that conference that impressess me outside of LSU and maybe UF...that Auburn/Ark game WAS PAINFUL to watch...and UGA JUMPING on the Vandy star...I guess when you beat a doormat by 3 you should celebrate...whatever

Oregon is a tough place to play, no doubt. But OU's record at home under Stoops is 51-2 with both losses bone-chillingly embarassing (OSU & TCU). Unfortunate-name Family Memorial Stadium is underrated as a tough venue for visitors but the main reason it has been tough is the quality of the teams that have played there.

I give the edge to Oklahoma.

For the last couplefew years, we've heard the stories of the extensive talks with Georgia. But when it came time to throw some ink on some paper, you're never guess which primary and secondary sexual characteristics UGA adopted? C'mon, take a big guess.

Dude -- not a day goes by that Oregon isn't on the phone with the SEC, top to bottom. It's been a running callout for many, many years. And who stepped up to the plate? Freaking Mississippi Freaking State(who got rolled in both buildings).

Tennessee hasn't backed out of negotiations yet... RACK them. No one else in the SEC even answers the phone. But boy, get Troy on the phone and they can't find a date fast enough.

OU? Not only did a H&H, but did it on short notice (in CFB scheduling terms, anyway). Michigan? They're a hot ticket, and it took 11 years to get both ends done, but it got done. We also hear all the rumors of games in the works -- Nebraska is a hot name right now. The WAC has lost some luster over recent years, but when Fresno and Boise were consistantly rocking the poills... well, whaddaya know...

But where's the SEC?

Go ahead and whine and bitch all you like, SEC. But at the end of the day, the onus is on YOU.

The PAC10, B11, B12 and the others aren't the ones targeting you for all of this ridicule... YOU are. YOU are the ones creating the problem, and no amount of bashing other conferences is going to change that. And those other conferences, under present rules, can't put a gun to your head and make you play somebody.

C'mon, let's bury the hatchet, SEC. There's been enough tension between you and the other conferences for long enough... time to put an end to it. Unfortunately, there;s nothing any of the rest of us can do about it... only YOU can.

So, because the teams in the SEC (outside of the top 2, maybe 3) are consistantly overrated, thus inflating your SOS, you don't feel the need to travel outside of a 500 mile bubble to play anyone, including a traditional power or other large national team? Gotcha. Before you start laughing about anyone's homefield advantage, take a step out and experience something other than the same thing, over and over and over.

memo to all: It is Killian's contention that the SEC is OVERRATED meaning there is a conference that is better.....I'm listening....this should be very entertaining. (please say the Big ten)

I mean, if the upper echilon of the SEC is so great, and the rest of us just don't understand, then why not show us the light? Humor us a little...

I mean, oif the SEC is SO MUCH better, then why not dial up USC, Texas, Michigan, or OSU? After all, if you're that much better, it shouldn't be a problem, right? Then, after demolishing those usuallly-strong teams from other conferences every year, if the SEC Champ comes in with two losses, pollsters can be justified in voting them up to #2 and giving them a BCS Bowl shot, right?

Then, the whole world can see the complete dominance that IS the SEC, rather than just the chosen few who happen to root for the SEC? Maybe give us all a glimpse outside of our crack-fuelled world, and give us a firsthand look at God's Chosen Conference? Maybe take on the mantra of "anyone, anytime, anywhere," rather than "Florida Atlantic, but only in our house."

Just a thought...

It just seems like SEC Fan is really bitter about all of the insults lobbed at his conference for their scheduling, yet there's a really really simple solution to the matter, and it's easily within your grasp.
