Michigan sacks up and puts down the Illini. Rack Chad Henne for gutting it out. Rack C. Brown for going over 100 yards in for Hart. Rack Manningham for coming back and hauling in 2 td's. Rack OC Mike DeBord for calling a WR end around pass for the game winner. Rack Ron English's D for stifling a spread offense with two mobile qb's the last 3 quarters.
There are now 6 teams that have lost to the team that lost to App.St.

Definitely a win to be proud of regardless of what their record is and what has happened this year. This had the makings of an ugly road loss but they stuck with it and won as a team. You don't point to one guy as being the hero like Hart was in most of the games so far. You had to two QBs, two backs and two receivers contributed offensively and DeBord did a great job calling the game. It's an effort like this that frustrates you more about the efforts earlier in the season but still, you can be proud of them not losing this team with all of the built-in excuses. Illinois melted down on a couple of situations...took way too many bad penalties. The punt roughing wasn't as bad as Mesko played it out to be but to the Wolverines' credit...they made the penalty sting. Great character win and I personally think Hart oughta sit out next week because they should easily wax the Gophers and keep the jug in Ann Arbor.
regardless the over-dramatics, the dipshit made sure to hit the punter, a no-no in any situation. speaking of dipshits, thank god a bunch of 20-year-old ones from iu came off less intelligent than a 700-year-old coaching "legend." fucking carr. thank you for giving away the entire 3rd quarter b/c chad henne's hand hurt, though obviously not so much for him to rock out the 4th quarter. mallett did drive michigan to a very important three points, but let him earn his experience at home against notre dame when henne can't play, not on the road against a team that could beat you.Shoalzie wrote:The punt roughing wasn't as bad as Mesko played it out to be but to the Wolverines' credit...they made the penalty sting.
thank god our receivers are awesome, and that our defense finally corralled a mobile qb. that he can't throw had something to do with it.
more thank god michigan lost its first two games. i don't want to be anywhere near the top ten heading into the stretch of season we have coming up.
