08 IU recruit busted with crack
Details still fuzzy at this point but Bud Mackey from Scott County, Kentucky who has verballed to IU was busted today for crack. Initial reports are not only for possession but also trafficking, and also within a school zone. I'll wait to pass judgement until details are solidified but there's WAY too much smoke here for there not to be a fire. Very disappointed right now.
"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

Way to bump a thread that's 6 weeks old by adding absolutley nothing to it.
Not that it really matters but MY judgement was toward how bad of an offense the kid commited and how likely a second chance would be for him somewhere. IU had already passed theirs and decided to not move forward with offering the kid a scholly, yes despite the fact he is/was a touted recruit. Anyfuck, for what is "known" about the case right now the kid was cleary hanging with the wrong type of folks and doing dirt but he wasn't trying to be some HS Pablo Escobar or anything. I'm sure a school like Oklahoma State will find a home for him to get his inevitable second chance. But I do wish Bud all the best in getting his life back on track.
