What kind of BCS armaggedon would ensue if an at-large Georgia team plays for the national title over USC (likely Pac-10 winner), Oklahoma (possible Big XII winner and they would've beaten Missouri a second time) and LSU (possible SEC winner)? I don't see it happening. Georgia probably is the 4th best team in America right now but I think we're more likely to see the other three teams in the title game against Ohio State if we have chaos this coming Saturday.

I'm quite content with seeing SEC fan gripping about their absence from the title game.

Mizzou - West Virginia would be a fine title game.

tOSU - USC would make for an excellent game in the Granddaddy of Them All.

LSU winds up in some inconsequential bowl game, hopefully against Hawaii.

Crazy season.

At this poinjt in the year, we should be arguing about who is better than who, and deserving of the championship game.

This season, it appears we're to argue over who sucks the least.

And at this point, if I had to pick 2, I'd put West Virginia and USC in the championship game.

Because the two teams that played last night are default fat-record teams. The B12, North in particular, is soooooo freaking bad, when combined with cupcaking, it produced some very misleading records for some very mediocre teams. After the Border Bore last night, I feel a great deal more strongly about cupcaking, and it should be punished, not rewarded.

And frankly, with their renewed health, USC would hang 50 on Mizzou before they finished the pregame warmups.

A case could be made for tOSU, but some punishment is in order, both for the cupcaking, and the asinine B11 policies... the b11 leader sitting in the clubhouse and hoping to leapfrog people is freaking stupid. Now, I understand about conferences doing things their own way... hell, I'm a PAC fan -- we pretty much invented "doing it our own way," but the PAC also sandbagged a week so there could be "spotlight" thursday nighters, and so the rivalries could coincide with the cheating conference's CCG. If the B11 wants for their champion with borderline BCS potential to sit idle for weeks while the pollsters watch every other contender in the country take on big games, that's their perogotive, but don't expect it to come without cost.

West Virginia did what they needed to do. They weren't super-impressive doing it, but (assuming they win out... but that goes without saying in such debates) but the Big Least was actually a halfway decent conf this year, and they're winning it.

But basically, at this point, I'm all about anyone but a B12 chump in the championship. The last several weeks have been atrocious to watch from that abortion of a conference. Had OU won out, I would have been all about them being in the championship. But without them being a one-losser, I'm getting sickly at the thought of throwing any of that crap from the B12 North in such a meaningful game.

It really is time to put an end to the cupcaking... and yes, I'm talking to you too, SEC. A team doesn't have to play LSU, USC, and TExas every year... I'm not THAT tough to please as far as OOC goes... but come the fuck on, Kansas, Mizzou, and the SEC. While SERC Tard has their "meatgrinder" excuse, how the fuck can Kansas keep a straight face when they schedule those games? Sorry, but if you schedule for the Alamo Bowl, the Alamo bowl is whjere you should end up at best.

this buckeye fan has no problems with any of the scenarios. if OU wins we play for all the marbles. if we dont, we play in the granddaddy. its a win win for us.

and im not afraid of any SEC teams or any team out there. its been a crazy year and to have the chance to make it to the title game fucking rules and is what every SEC team out there wants.

just the chance of seeing the buckeye's in 3 national title games is crazy to think it took us what 33 years to reach the first one.. and now 3 in the last 6.

fuck you all!!

BOOMER FUCKING SOONER!! Bring on the chaos!

Awww, man...let me dream! If Oklahoma beats Missouri, they should pass Georgia in the BCS. Southern Cal is a far better team than Georgia, too.

But I wanna see tOSU shiver again. :D

I think Georgia is a more favorable matchup for Ohio State than Missouri or West Virginia because the Bulldogs are a pretty basic offense. Moreno is an excellent running back but Stafford is a basic pocket QB and Ohio State could win in traditional boring Big Ten fashion. Missouri would be a nightmare matchup because it could Illinois all over again...spread offense, Daniels isn't quite as athletic as Juice Williams but still a guy that can move and he's got an accurate arm. West Virginia would be the lesser of two evils but the idea of them having to contain Pat White will give the Buckeyes fits as well. I think both the Tigers and Mountaineers might not be as complete a team as Ohio State (offense and defense) but I think because of their exotic offenses and dynamic skill position players, they would beat them. If I were a Buckeye fan, I would rather face USC than Missouri and West Virginia.

You have a better shot with West Virginia but I see Missouri being an Illinois clone and they have better talent.

Riiight. Are we talking about the same USC team that got beat by Stanford? What a myopic little PAC 10 homer. SEC BSH has nothing on an ignorant tardling like you.
But basically, at this point, I'm all about anyone but a B12 chump in the championship. The last several weeks have been atrocious to watch from that abortion of a conference.
Oh please, spare us this inane rambling nonsense that you spew in hopes that someone might be convinced that you have even the slightest inkling of what you may be talking about.

You don't have a clue, but rather appear to be under some quirky delusion that your opinion matters and is shared by others.

There are at least 3 Big XII teams, maybe more, that on a neutral field would spank each and every team in the Pussy-10, including your latest mancrush USC.

Do you get tired of being clueless?

Thanks for the laughs (at your expense).

To answer the question...

Uhm...no.

I actually wasn't talking about the same USC team that lost to Stanford. THAT USC team was missing about half of its offensive line, and about half of their starting 22 overall due to injuries, and had a QB with a broken finger in the game.

No, the USC I was talking about is the much healthier version that's been rolling fools effortlessly as of late, and would take Mizzou out behind the woodshed with little difficulty.

Really? Then why (with the notable exception of OU) aren't they on the phone? Oh... the line was too busy talking to The Worst Team in D1 and various 1AA teams.

Nevermind.

Wasn't SC like 30 pt favorites in that game...even with the injuries factored in?

Yep. 38.5, according to our pick'em game. It was above 40 in some places, if I remember correctly.

Oh, I get Dins just fine, and usually just laugh right along whether I agree or not. At least he's entertaining and generally a very compelling read. I have a great appreciation for the passionate effort he puts forth. Dude is "all in" all the time, as it were, and I dig that.

Wags, he's fishing, and as always you take the bait and swallow the hook.
Fishing, huh? Well maybe to some extent, but i really believe that he'd like others to believe that what he's saying is gospel truth. Pardon moi if I take exception, or "swallow the hook" as you so eloquently put it.

----------------------------------------------

Now Dins, before you rag on Mizzou's OOC schedule again, just remember that while the Quacks were playing a weak sister like Houston in Week 1, Mizzou was playing Illinois. That fact alone should take some of the air out of your pathetic assertion, though I know that you'd never allow a silly little thing like facts get in the way of attempted smack.

Now back to your default favorite team USC. To say that they'd beat Mizzou by fiddy is so ridiculously over the top, I really don't see how you'd expect anyone to take you seriously with anything that you said afterward.

I'd love to see that game happen though, just not this year. We've got our sights set a bit higher right now, and that must drive you crazy.

That would be too ironic if Miles leads the Tigers over OSU in the title game after refusing to go to Michigan. He would've been a god in Ann Arbor if he beat the Buckeyes to win a national title and then left to take their job.

Ohio State hired John Cooper because he beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Go ask around Columbus about his deity status.

Poor ol' Buckeye fan. Here we go again. Disaster Part Deux.

Care or don't, Ohio State has been dealing with some injuries as well. Lawrence Wilson, arguably tOSU's best defensive lineman, broke his leg first game of the season. He might play by January. DTs Denlinger and Larimore have missed some later games. Beanie Wells has been nursing a bad ankle all season.

Of course, all these players are big & slow and won't really matter anyways.
