For USC Senior Day and the introductions prior to the game between the Trojans and UCLA Bruins there will be a few special introductions. The fathers of Drean Rucker and Mario Danello, clad in their sons jerseys will run out of the tunnel at the Memorial Coliseum in place of their sons who are no longer physically with us.
Mario Danello was the kicker for the USC Trojans who last year fell to his death off the cliffs of his home town San Pedro. The team has worn a tribute to Mario on their helmets all year, his number is on the grass behind the goal posts at the stadium and practice facility and the goal post pads have his name and number on them.
Drean Rucker was a Line Backer from Moreno Valley Canyon Springs High School who had signed to play at USC. Drean was in Huntington Beach for a High School Graduation party when he drown around dusk. The team wore Dreans number (54) and his innitials on their helmet that year and petitoned the NCAA to award his family with National Championship rings the 2 years he would have been on the team.
Drean and Mario who would have been seniors this year and playing in their final game at the Coliseum will likely get two of the loudest ovations from the Trojan Family
