It would be a mistake for Johnson to take this job, I think. Yeah, it's a BCS school, but it's damn near impossible to win there in football. Spurrier got them to the middle of the pack in the ACC in the late 80's. That's about as good as it's ever gonna get at Duke, and the ACC was much weaker in football then than now. Not to mention that Duke is a basketball school, and it's generally harder to win in football at schools where basketball is king.
Johnson will get a better offer than this, if not this year, then soon.

Tenuta would be a good get for UofM. He was DC at Ohio State not too long ago under Cooper, and always had the silver bullets flyin'.

Johnson is supposedly getting heavy interest from Ga Tech. That would be a great job for him. I think he could actually do something over time with Duke. But Ga Tech is obviously a better job.

I've heard that he's a finalist for the Ga Tech job as well. Definitely a better job than Duke.

Houston AD, Dave Maggard, has contacted Jack Pardee, 71, for an interview with for the vacant head coaching position at Houston. Now, David Klingler is in the mix as well to coach under Pardee should Pardee be hired.
This is exactly the shit I was hoping Maggard would avoid. I mean, didn't they learn their lesson at all when they hired Clyde the Lazy to coach our basketball program? This will be a fucking trainwreck should they hire Pardee who, IMO, is waaaayyyy past his prime.
I can only hope Pardee fucks up the interview and Houston goes after a receivers, runningbacks, or qb coach of a big university.

ND OC Mike Heywood is also being considered for the job.

Source: Houston hires Sumlin, eighth minority coach in FBS
By Joe Schad
Houston has hired Oklahoma Sooners co-offensive coordinator Kevin Sumlin as its head coach, a person told of the decision said Thursday morning.
Sumlin would replace Art Briles, who resigned Nov. 28 to take the top job at Baylor.
Houston athletics director Dave Maggard told the Houston Chronicle that he was prepared to name Sumlin, who has spent the last five years on Bob Stoops' staff at Oklahoma, on Friday.
Chris Burkhalter, Houston's associate athletics director, confirmed to The Associated Press a news conference had been scheduled for noon Friday but couldn't elaborate. A call to Maggard was not immediately returned to the AP.
Sumlin has been Oklahoma's co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach for the past two seasons, after three seasons as specials teams and tight ends coach.
Sumlin was assistant head coach and offensive coordinator for two years at Texas A&M; he also has coached at Purdue, Minnesota, Wyoming and Washington State.
Sumlin will be the eighth minority college football coach in the former Division I-A. Sumlin, 43, was a linebacker at Purdue from 1983 to 1986.
Other candidates considered by Houston included Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Haywood and former Houston coach Jack Pardee.
I could not believe they were seriously considering Pardee. A 71yr-old that has been out of coaching a quite a while starting a new job? Ya that is likely to work.
Sumlin is a good hire IMO.
