True enough, but there's no time like the present to get started.King Crimson wrote:it's gonna take more than one game for that to happen. jus sayin'.War Wagon wrote:

Lifelong Mizzou fans have suffered many years - and were always fans. No bandwagon - just quiet dispair over a team that never could put anything together towards a title run.
Coloradoish? No. The wine and ski crowd (see Bronco, Denver) will root for whenever they win and could care less otherwise.
Funny to see all the hate from the "traditionals".
Would tOSU, OU, USC, ND & NU have all the fans had they not been winners in past decades? who knows. Conjecture there as well.
It's fucking cold up here.

So what are we drinking tonight, Orc? Boulevard recently launched its specialty "Smokestack" series, and I have a bottle of "Sixth Glass" quadrupel ale to fortify my stock of mass-produced MissouriBeers for tonight's occasion.
BTW, on behalf of Tiger fans everywhere, we would like to thank the University of Oklahoma for this opportunity to represent the North in this year's Sooner Invitiational. Hopefully, and with a bit of luck, Chase Daniel will soon be hoisting the Bob Stoops Conference Championship Trophy high into the Alamodome air.
Er, or not....
Still, it oughtta be a helluva game!

I even splurged on some Heineken in addition to my customary stockpile of St. Louis' finest to mark this auspicious occasion.

Caught a Blues-Blackhawks game at the old Checkerdome back in '86. Kick-ass game! Not only did we see an 8-goal second period, but there were so many fights in the stands that night that Security and the cops couldn't keep up!
But you might wanna re-think those Blues tickets should another one fall on January 8 and Mizzou just happens to be playing...
Er, just sayin'.

Bomber-glass number six in transit. I'm hoping to achieve a Wags-level state of pure bliss by kickoff.
BTW ... call me, lover.
If I have to hear Truman rain down from the heavens with his pursuit of destiny speech, I can certainly reciprocate in your general erection. And, yes, the band is all here ... tightly crowded around my kegerator (neatly decorated with various Boomer Sooner fridge magnets, I might add).
If Tru were a good sort, some of that quad would be headed south in a few weeks.
Win or lose, I'll say props to the class Mizzou fans out there. Some of you are the salt of the earth, and it's a pleasure to watch our teams lace 'em up this evening.
The rest of you can go fuck yourselves as you rapidly exit the burning bandwagon this evening.
This could be my last post this evening, so enjoy folks!

Oh, and please tell me that isn't an Oklahoma kegorator... You know, a fixture that won't work on Sunday and serves flat 3.2 beer at room temperature....
That said, I've decided that there are few things in this country better than a fresh keg of Muellers. Deal. But I expect nothing less than sixer of the local Pilsner in trade for the 'Stacks. Fairs fair.
BTW, Orc, Magua is yours for the wytching should the Unthinkable occur. However, get used to my kitties chasing your li'l Gravey Train chuckwagon 'round the Board 'til Bowl Season ends....

Chat sucks and blows.
Mizzou is lucky to be in this game right now. OU is punching them in the mouf. Some big adjustments need to be made.
Injuries look like they're taking a heavy toll on both squads. This is a very physical game, and people are getting hurt.
Rack the OU defense. Those fucks came to play, just like I knew they would. They're making Chase and the vaunted MU offense look very ordinary.
I still think a heavy dose of Tony Temple is just what the doctor ordered. You have to have at least the threat of running the ball, else they simply pin their ears back and go for broke. At least put a RB in the backfield to help pick up the blitz, it doesn't have to be TT.

don't look now, Mizzou is down 3 scores. right in their comfort/we gave it away zone.

An ass-kicking for the ages. Major ups to the Sooners for validating that OU is still the team to beat in the XII and that Missouri still is... well, Missouri.
If anything, SoonerFan oughtta be right pissed for shitting the bed earlier this season against the Buffs. This team should be in New Orleans come January 8th. Instead, they'll have to content themselves mucking out stalls with the likes of Kansas in Glendale. No dishonor there; however, OU proved tonight that they deserve a shot at the best.
Oh well, fun ride while it lasted. Rack Mizzou for a fine season.

Ouch, that really hurts.
Congrats and props to the Oklahoma Sooners. You own Mizzou, and are still King of the Hill.
No bitterness, recriminations, or excuses from this keyboard. We got stomped, and the much better team won.
This would be a really excellent time for me to go dig a hole and crawl into it for awhile.
