Prediction - ACC

Post by Killian »

Within 3 years, Georgia Tech will be one of, if not the, best teams in that conference on a yearly basis. They just hired Paul Johnson today, who may be one of the best coaches in college football. He has the perfect kid to run his system in Josh Nesbit, and he has ties to Georgia from his days at Georgia State.

Nah, Saban will take the job before then.

Why? Has he already said he won't?

He has no interest whatsoever and has not talked to anyone from the AD's office.

They should of got Hatcher from Georgia Southern.

Jimbo has been named Bobby Bowdens successor. I think 2008 is Bobby's last year

Why are we even discussing this? He's side time and time again that he WILL NOT BE the coach at Michigan.

Johnson was my first pick for the Nebraska job, lots of people here are enamored by Pelini due to a flash in the pan. One season as DC and a bowl game against Michigan St. as interim HC. Doesn't hold as much water to me as Johnson's accomplishments at Geo. Southern and Navy. Most everyone here called me crazy. Guess we'll see.

What Johnson has proven is he's a coach that can win at any level with whatever talent he has...right Notre Dame? And I felt he would have fit the principals and culture of NU and it's fans.

I'm not going to throw dirt on Pelini, but I think he was as much a "popular hire" as opposed to the most fully qualified candidate with the best credentials. I hope he wins big time, but I'd have felt more secure with Johnson. I'm wondering how much pressure was on Osborne to hire Pelini and from whom?

I'll watch closely how G. Tech does.
