Joseph Phillips stood on his HEAD--->(28-30 SAVES?????).....or something like that.
UofscUM's Winning Streak comes to an end....they can't match their "best start EVAH!" (what'UP 13-2?????)
hmm....the Time of Day has been changed...its no longer 14 'til 3.....its now 3 'til 2!
PREFACE: OSU HOCKEY does NOT COMPARE to U of M....U of M Hockey is SUPERIOR.
just had to LAUGH!
Lloyd Carr must've gave a pep~talk......
Red Baranson is not sleeping tonight.
quite sure that scUM will get EVEN on Saturday.

Pissed off for sure...the only two times I've seen the Wolverines on TV have been in their two losses. Maybe I shouldn't watch them anymore this year.
Tip of the hat to the Buckeyes...held the #1 offense off the board for 57 minutes and won on the road against a team that had won 12 in a row.
Both teams have a mess load of freshmen but Michigan gets the blue chip prospects plus they have probably the best senior 1-2 punch in the nation with Porter and Kolarik. Scary to think how good they could've been had Cogliano and Johnson had not left early.

the buckeyes finally make an apperance this season after sleepwalking and underachieving through the first 12 games. berenson obviously gave the boys a talking-to as they made quick work of osu on saturday night.
big weekend for the wolverines as they have a home-and-home with high-flying bowling green. the falcons have won at yost in the past and are always tough in the barren wasteland known as bgsu ice arena. hopefully this game will be on for your lucky michigan/ohio viewers who get comcast local (i.e. everyone but shoalz and i). i don't believe fsn starts showing games until the gli.

Incorrect...the Friday game was on FSN.
I don't have Comcast Local like you mentioned but I do have the sports tier on Comcast with the NFL Network, NBA TV, Fox Soccer Channel and the three Fox College Sports channels. I get to see quite a bit of the WCHA on those channels. I don't have ESPNNEWS or Classic or BTN but it's still a decent package for $5 a month.
good to hear FSN is investing in broadcasting ccha games before the gli. they never used to do that in the past.Shoalzie wrote:I don't have Comcast Local like you mentioned but I do have the sports tier on Comcast with the NFL Network, NBA TV, Fox Soccer Channel and the three Fox College Sports channels. aren't you still charter out in v-burg? i used to despise charter's "sports tier." pretty much all the shit you mentioned, but they did include espnnews and classic. the fcs channels are mostly worthless...
...except for the wcha replays. roll back home from the bar and you get to catch the wcha replays, one time i saw colorado college vs. minn and i said to myself "why the fuck didn't i know about this before?" one time we saw minn at anchorage live. that was pretty cool. you never see the games in alaska broadcasted.
Nope, I've got Comcast. The local branch or headquarters or whatever is located in Three Rivers. I guess I'm out of range of Charter. The sucky thing with Comcast in our area, they don't even have on-demand available yet. When I get a plasma TV next year, I'm dumping them for DirecTV. I'll keep them for internet though...they haven't screwed that up yet.
nobody gives a fuck. give us a holla when the wcha is even close to being relevant again. until then, enjoy licking the sweat of the CCHA's collective balls.Adelpiero wrote:north dakota vs Minnesota tonight
u get to see the great oshie
best player not in NHL. a two way player who has a chip on his shoulder and has serious offensive and physical game!
he's hurting badly and still laying people out with hits!~
Four CCHA teams in the top 6 in the USCHO.com poll...just sayin'
Oshie is a talented player but you're going a little far with your "best player not in the NHL" take. Kevin Porter (homer pick) is the best player in America right now. I'd put a vote in for John Tavares as the best player not in the NHL...68 points in 30 games, leads the OHL.

Yeah, 5 of the last 6 NCAA champions came from the WCHA In both 2004 and 2006 Frozen Fours, two of the four were WCHA, none were CCHA. In 2005, all 4 teams in the Frozen Four were WCHA. In other words, in the past 4 Frozen Fours, the CCHA has held one out of 16 positions. Real fucking relevant. Just STFU, you wet-brained fucktard.Screw_Michigan wrote:nobody gives a fuck. give us a holla when the wcha is even close to being relevant again. until then, enjoy licking the sweat of the CCHA's collective balls.Adelpiero wrote:north dakota vs Minnesota tonight

i'm sorry you're a bitter cunt because your shit, underachieving hockey team is 4-5-1 and couldn't win a game away from madison if its life depended on it. just get fucking used to it: the wcha's reign of dominance is over. you had your decade, and like every 10-year cycle in college hockey, the ccha is back on top like it was in the late 90s.Goober McTuber wrote:Yeah, 5 of the last 6 NCAA champions came from the WCHA In both 2004 and 2006 Frozen Fours, two of the four were WCHA, none were CCHA. The late 90’s is a decade now? You mean when that 5-year decade when the CCHA (read: Michigan) won two titles? Face facts, you deluded fuckwit. The WCHA has won half of all the NCAA Hockey Championships ever played. The ccha is our ugly little brother, about on a par with Hockey East.
You wish you were smart enough to match wits with sirfindafold.
BTW, I’m not bitter at all about the Badgers. They’re young, they’ll only get better. Eaves continually taps into that developmental squad pipeline. I’m sure that within the next couple of years we’ll be playing for our 7th National Championship. How many does your team have, X-boy?

I'm well aware, you fucking douche, of how many titles WCHA teams have won in the course of history. I'm also well aware most of this was due to John MacInnis and his coaching brethren circumventing NCAA rules by importing 30 year old Canadian men to play against 18-24 year old American amateurs, because they still had eligibility. So in a nutshell, once the playing field leavened for all the leagues and teams in the nation and WCHA teams couldn't cheat their way to national titles, the league fell on hard times. Too fucking bad.
Oh, and I understand you barely know what the fuck you're talking about, but "tapping into the NTDP pipeline," really doesn't guarantee you much unless you have the coaching to fully develop those players to their full potential. There's a certain CCHA team located in NO IN that dominated that pipeline for almost a decade (and still does), only to turn out .500 records and only one tournament appearance because their coach was easily the worst in the CCHA during his tenure (aside from WMU's Jim Culhane and the second go-around for Frank Anzalone at LSSU). Eaves is a solid coach, but this proves just because you're bringing in all the top talent from Ann Arbor, doesn't mean you have a leg up on the competition.

I never saw these 30-year-old Canucks you speak of. I watched six different title teams for the Badgers, and I never saw anyone playing that wasn’t college age. Hell, Minnesota won at least three national titles back when Doug Woog only used Minnesota kids.
Not sure where these “hard times” were, either. Other than a “Screw_Michigan decade” from 1991-1996, the WCHA has never gone more than 2 or 3 years without a title. And in the 11 years since 1996, the WCHA has won 7 titles. Where again are these “hard times”? Yeah, you really know what the fuck you’re talking about.
And BTW, the NTDP pipeline is only a portion of our recruiting base; we’re also getting decent players from Canada as well.

I'm not about to discredit the WCHA's recent history. Michigan hasn't been to a Frozen Four since '02-03. Much like my take on Big Ten football...the hell with the rest of the conference if my team isn't getting the job done. If Red can't get a Frozen Four bid out of this group, he's got some questions to answer.
