Big 10 v SEC Bowl Thread
Ok we have what 3 matchups:
Outback Wisconsin v Tennessee
Cap One Michigan v Florida
MNC tOSU v LSU
interesting matchups...
Wisconsin v Tennessee: PJ Hill should be ready to roll, can Tenn stop a power type running game? Can Wisconisn defense put enough pressure on Ainge to force him into mistakes? I look for Wisconsin to play the ball control power running game scenario to its fullest. I think Wisconsin wears UT down ala what Wisconsin has done to Arkansas and Auburn the last 2 years. I like the Wisconsin secondary v the Vols WR's especially with Ikagwanu (stud)...and the LB's are bitches...I look for Wisconsin to win this one 21 - 14
Michigan v UF: Yes UF is playing good ball, yes UF has studs everywhere, yes we will hear how Michigan can't defend the spread or whatever the fuck you want to call it. UF has a young defense, Hart and Henne will be healthy, Michigan will be playing with a lot of emotion. Will Tebow have any ill effects from his hand and shoulder? Can Michigan limit harvin? I mean no one has been able to. This game to me will be closer than most people think. Michigan is getting what 10 points...I would take Michigan and points if I were a betting the game. So with that said I look for a 28 to 20 type of game.
Big 10 1
SEC 1
tOSU v LSU: LSU is a conventional type team with a lot of speed at the skill positions (Holiday, Doucet)...this will really test the tackling and athletic ability of the OSU LB's and Secondary. I think OSU will pound the ball on the edges against LSU, and throw a lot to the TE up the seem as LSU will probably load up the box to stop Beanie. I think LSU will have some trouble running on OSU as OSU has about as athletic a LB core as there is in College Football...Laurenitis is an animal I look for him to have a big game. Can LSU exploit the double team on Dorsey to get good pressure on Boeckman? If LSU loads up the box Robiskie/Hartline will go off. Tressel has outcoached Miles before, will Miles be sane for this game? I look for OSU to exercise the demons and win a 27 to 21 type of game. OSU down 21 to 20 with about 8 minutes to go...gets the ball and goes on a massive 6+ minute drive and just physically runs the ball down LSU's throats to win.
OSU wins a bowl game against SEC, OSU gets some redemption for 1/7/07, OSU proves that they did belong...
Big 10 2
SEC 1
overall record since inception of BCS
BIG 10 15
SEC 12
let the debate begin...

On paper, I give the slight advantage to the SEC. But the homer in me is predicting victory for the B10.
I think the Wisky/UT game is a virtual toss-up. Wisconsin often fields very strong all-around football teams, but I don't see them play inspired ball all season long. When "good" Tennessee shows up they're very tough to beat. Wisky has had some success against standard operating SEC teams, and typically plays pretty well in bowls. I give them the edge here.
UF beats Michigan, but I'm not leaning toward a blowout. Hart and Henne are the core of the UM offense, and they haven't played at full strength since very early in the season. Both should be fully healthy for this game. And with Lloyd's last game and all, you've gotta believe this will be an extremely spirited effort by Michigan. Yes, UF is almost unstoppable on offense, but the D isn't Michigan's achilles heel. The question is whether they can score enough to hang. I just don't see it happening. Edge: UF.
OSU over LSU - anywhere from 3-6 points. I'll probably give a more detailed breakdown closer to game day.
2-1 Big Ten

Word around here has been that P.J. is not healing. But Zach Brown really came on strong at the end of the season with 358 yards in the last two games. I’m curious whether they’ll let Lance Smith play (the other 2nd string RB). He was suspended for all regular season away games. Wonder if that will carry over to the bowl game?
I think Wisconsin can handle Tennessee, and I thought Alvarez made a brilliant move accepting the invite before the last weekend of the season. Once tOSU made it to the championship game and Illinois was selected for the Rose, I believe the Badgers could have been selected to play Florida and Tebow Almighty.

T...the one stat since 1998 BCS Big 10 is 13-11 v SEC in head to head bowl games and most of those are 2 v 2 matchups, etc...not something like Michigan v Ole Miss...so pretty competitive...
Wow same LSU by 14 to 20...you must know something Vegas doesn't...
If LSU does win I think it will be close...I have watched LSU a ton this year and really don't see the True SPREAD Option...they like to spread the field with 4 and 5 wides...but they still line up in a lot of I formation 2 WR conventional sets in a lot of instances...
I look at it this way...I would say OSU is better than Arkansas and kentucky...Arkansas beat LSU with a power type running game...of course no defense was played in this game...I think OSU can pound the ball at LSU and will do so...LSU needs to be able to stop Wells and tackle him in space...he has shown uncanny ability to break through the first tackle at the line and just blow by people...just food for thought...
I still think OSU wins this game...as they will hear how they don't belong and LSU this and LSU that...much like UF heard earlier in the year against OSU...

This season the Big Ten is not that great with the SEC being pretty good.
Both UM and OSU are capable of pulling a upset but I only see Wisky winning vs SEC.

Pretty well sums up the thought process of SEC Ball Sucking Homer, doesn't it?
We're the SEC. Sure, I haven't seen much of the New England Patriots this season, but since it's the SEC, LSU should win by two touchdowns or more.
Priceless.
Are you still struggling to figure out why SEC Fan is considered to be a retard by the rest of the country?

good points sam...Dorsey will be a bitch for the OSU line...but Gholston will be tough for the LSU tackles as well (in no way am I saying Vern Gholston is on the same level as Dorsey)...
this game will be won and lost in the trenches (yeah I know obvious)...OSU does have a strong running game...if Beanie can get by first point of contact...6'1" 230 ish pounds with speed...he is tough to bring down and gets stronger as the game goes on...
It will be interesting to see if Tressel does have any new wrinkles...I think they got complacent last year and stayed to true to form...this year will be interesting...
14-20 points seems a little much as I think OSU is as good or better than many of the teams LSU has beaten or been tested by...but by the same token LSU is vulnerable and if Miles has brain fart after brain fart...Tressel has already beaten him down once at Okie State...and yes I realize different talent, different teams...
how sick is this:
Tressel
Miles
Meyer
Zook
Bob Stoops
Mike Stoops
Bo Pelini
all from FUCKING OHIO...holy shit...many of the cream of the coaching crop...

You’ve already set up LSU’s excuse if they lose. More than once, just in this thread.
Sorry, if LSU loses it will be because they got beat by a better team.

I know. That's why it was so freaking funny -- even when you try to be neutral, you just can't get that SEC Retard Cock out of your mouth.
And this is why you people are so universally mocked.
