Got your Christmas shopping done yet?

Post by War Wagon »

Or have you even started?

Procrastinator that I am, I haven't done one bit of shopping yet. It's sorta' tradition by now that I'll be out driving from mall to mall, running from store to store, desperately trying to find some gifts that aren't totally lame or useless.

Anybody else in the same predicament?

I have no idea of what I'm looking for, so wish me luck. The first year we were married, I bought my wife a bathroom scale, a frying pan, and a vacuum cleaner. Those didn't go over quite as well as I'd hoped.

Just kidding, I didn't really get her a vacuum for Christmas... that was a birthday present.

Rumple had the same idea, but soon found it wasn't necessary. When the wife rides shotgun, they get flagged into the weigh station.

Did a lot of shopping at Amazon a couple of weeks ago. That got a lot of the requirements out of the way.

Took half the day off on Friday (I had a PT appointment late in the afternoon anyway) and spent some time at the outlet mall that's close to work. Brooks Brothers, BOSE and Le Gourmet Chef outlets pretty much completed everything.

1 of 2 present sessions is behind us. My kids barely have any space left in their rooms...think Mt. RumpleBrisket spatula'ed into a VW Bug...

I have to go out and buy for my wife and mother in-law.

Pray for me Percocet and Quadrophenia.

I am finished. The wife and I decided to forego getting gifts for each other so we can spend more $$$ on the trip.

The new board scares and confuses me.......

All Xmas Shopping done two weekes ago - All Xmas wrapping just finished today.

Wrapping sucks.

My Wife has some insane notion presents should look well wrapped.
I just use lots of tape.

BWA Wags at the Vaccuum - cuz my wife got one ... it's the a $450 Dyson that supposedly sucks the carpet from the backing.
Not my idea - she saw it, she wanted it she got it.
She also got a Traventine Vase from the Smithsonian (great story about carrying that 80lb sucker back from DC in the overhead) - a new Gateway laptop, a cashmere sweater I picked out and a horrendously ugly hoodie she picked out from Macy's.

The boys just got a more toys, all needing batteries. The youngest got a Robosapien and the middle one got an IPOD. My oldest got Guitar Hero 3 for his playstation and 4 new tires for his explorer.

We're going to a white elephant party tonight with some close friends - Gives me a chance to get rid of some of the previous years presents that were too horrific to open, and no receipt to return.

On the plus side - I made some of my kick ass hot wings and they'll be plenty of scotch

BWA!

Yea... there were styro peanuts involved, but the real fun was carrying that sucker through security, the terminal in regan, and a plane change in Milwaukee in a big, green velour box with duct tape around it.

And since no strangers would be so kind as to watch this large, funky looking case in any of the terminals, it got to go to the head with me as well. Good times.
