Except you're going down like Frisco on prom night.
I realize I'm a little late here, but if you're around, we can sig it up, if you're so inclined. Since bowl games are known to be held late in the season, a Bellotti-led team is always going to be the underdog.
If Justin Roper/Cody Kempt can play some decent QB, then Jonathan Stewart PWNS! you, and it's an easy win. But we haven't seen decent QB play in so long, we've forgotten what it looks like. I'd just as soon Kempt came in and rocked the party, since he's my local homie, but he's looked pretty brutal when we've seen him. Roper got his shit together towards the end of the Civil War, but too little too late.
WTF -- all the money, all the recruiting, all the hype... and I'm talking shit about a game in freaking El Paso... neat. If shaven-pornstache manages to lose to a compass reading, maybe it's time for a change (SHHH!!!! They'd hang me in Eugene for saying that).

sun bowl aint a bad bowl. fuck, its a new years eve bowl, you got to see a hint of the future of oregon(qb) next season, and beat a quality opponent to end the season!
the big east is not good. USF over achieved early, then bottomed out.
Leavitt is a great coach, but it's still a major work in progress building a program from nothing to New years eve bowl games

Dins, you creamed us in every phase of the game. I would have figured that adjustments would have been made at halftime to stop the run, but I guess that was asking for too much.

I was right about something this Bowl Season?
WHOA!
USF is going to reap the benefits of this season, in terms of better recruiting in a hotbed of recruiting. They'll win that conference in the foreseeable future.
And while it was just the Sun Bowl, it was sure a sigh of relief -- got some decent QB play. Once the injury bug became epidemic, there aren't really that many seniors left to leave. Hopefully, Stewart stays for his senior year, where surely he'll be a preseason Heisman candidate. If not, there's other RBs, but not of the standout-caliber Stewart is.
But that game represented a whole bunch of hope for next season. And despite the loss, it should represent hope for many years to come for USF, who is now "on the map."

Dins,
I am thoroughly convinced that if Dixon remained healthy that you'd be playing for the National Championship. You guys were more physical on both sides of the ball than any team we have seen all season.
The one blessing in getting blown out like that is that recruiting some beef on OL and DL should become a high priority, especially the interior DL. I have been worried for a while that was our weak point and you guys did a great job in exposing it.
