Not true.

There were at least three Tigers getting simultaneously pwnd by John Hannah in his photo... that's got to count for something.

Cheer up, the other schools you root for were quite well represented. :P

Coupla thoughts on the ND selections:

I was a bit surprised to see George Gipp in there, since the unofficial official website I was using when we discussed this topic says that ND didn't issue numbers when Gipp played there. I was also a bit surprised that the top two choices at #81 both played at ND, and neither was named Tim Brown. I also thought that Rocket should've gotten the call at #25 over Tommy McDonald (sorry, OU fan).

And that goofy perm on Marino was worthy of a guffaw. Or 12.

Maisel did one of these a couple years ago. i remember sort of liking his list more. i did send him an email that he whiffed on whoever he picked as #53 missing the great Sooner C/DL (playing both ways) Jerry Tubbs--who split all the non Notre Dame votes with Tommy McDonald for the Heisman.

he responded he agreed. he didn't think much of my suggestion at 65 (he said he had trouble with the position), 78 or 79 Outland Trophy winner Greg Roberts. who made this list. however SI is crack as always showing a picture of a player on *another team* numbered 65 playing against OU--the only OU player somewhat in the pic appears to be numbered in the 80's. no Greg Roberts anywhere to be seen, unless it's a intra-squad scrimmage and he's wearing a white helmet. nice work guys.

not sure about Brett Favre the collegian here, lotta great players in the low numbers.

the pic of Marvin Lewis is pretty cool.
