who knows, with Cap ready to rise again, this contract could be a steal in 3 years.
I wonder if the lightning are still happy about giving that idiot contract to Brad Richards. 7.8mil , that contract will never be a Bargain, more like a crippling contract. He's not even their best player. Maybe their 4th best player and he's highest paid!

Lidstrom signed through '09-10 for $7.45 million
Datsyuk signed through '13-14 for $6.7 million
Rafalski signed through '11-12 for $6 million
Kronwall signed through '11-12 for $3 million
Holmstrom signed through '09-10 for $2.25 million
Draper signed through '10-11 for $1.58 million
Osgood signed through '10-11 for $1.42 million
Maltby signed through '08-09 for $833,333
Cleary is going to need a new deal after this year and he's definitely in for a large raise...only making $662,500 this year. Also, Filppula and Jimmy Howard will be RFAs this summer. Chelios and Hasek are year-to-year guys. Lilja will be a UFA...I think he's a goner.
The next big contract for Holland to sign is Zetterberg. His deal is up after next year and can't talk to him until this summer. I'm sure he'll be getting around Datsyuk money.
Overall, I think Holland has done quite well with the cap considering he doesn't have the star-studded lineup as past years but is still getting results.
