I'm thinking Fat Bottom Girls by Queen should be in "heavy" rotation.

I hosted a poker game saturday. Out in the Card Room, the selections were --
Dr Theopolis -- Astronomical... was in the CD player when I turned it on... fine choice
Pink Floyd -- Animals
Crazy 8's -- Still Crazy After All These Beers... a U&L classic
Not even sure what else went in the CD player. I do believe we violated a house rule that states that all poker games must have Steely Dan playing at some point during the game, a rule that's been in æffect for over 15 years now.

What do you play? Cash? tourney? Dealer calls it or straight Hold'em?

Hold 'Em is a game for people who don't know how to play poker.
Oh, I'll play it, and excel -- but it's glorified gut. It's great for large groups, though.
We play really low stakes dealer call, mostly 7 stud games and their variants.

Agreed.Dinsdale wrote:Hold 'Em is a game for people who don't know how to play poker.
I find myself wanting to play more cash games that incorporate a more diverse setting. I seem to play Omaha better than I do Hold'em lately because there isn't a dumbfuck at the table with unlimited resources just coming over the top no matter the move I make. Its frustrating to say the least.
Cash games have been pissing me off lately because of the $60 calls I am getting by the jackass who wants to see the river just so they can catch their gutshot. Incredible.
Play Omaha and those types will get slaughtered.

Re: Hold'em Tournament Tonight....
This tourney tonight is a $100 buy-in with 30% of the pot going toward the end of the year tourney. You collect points the course of the year. There are 11 tournaments throughout the year usually held on the last Tuesday of every month. I only played in 3 of them last year and finished one slot out of making it to the championship game. This year, I am not going to miss one event unless Mrs. Rumps says so.
The participation is usually between 30-40 players, so its a nice size pot. The second place finish alone last year put me in the black for the year.

It's probably tough to get them on again once they're off. They don't make shoehorns the size of the Matterhorn.
