Coast Guard pilots dropped down to search visually on Thursday but conditions were stormy with winds blowing at about 35 mph, according to search and rescue controller Ray Dwyer. The high winds and seas continued Friday.

So... this article reveals that the North Pacific can be stormy and windy during January/February?


Damn. I never would have guessed? What next, are they going to tell us it can be cold, too?

Kanda was well-equipped for the current trip,
With the exception of the "Typical weather patterns to expect in January over most of the Northern hemisphere for dummies" book.

It sucks when you overlook that kind of shit.
