In addition to the scholarship reductions and the probation, which began Wednesday, FSU listed four other "punitive actions:"
1) The firing of the learning specialist and tutor at the center of the scandal.
2) The requirement of all athletics department administrative and non-administrative staff to attend a four-hour training program instructed by an outside consultant on "decision-making in the NCAA compliance environment.
3) Personnel changes at five senior level positions within the athletic department and within the university's Athletic Academic Support Services (AASS) department.
4) And the review and enhancement of the working relationship between learning specialist positions within the AASS and the university-wide Student Disability Resource Center
Well there goes the clean image that FSU had.

Since FSU self reported, they hope their recommendations to the NCAA will be the only action taken. The probation would still allow them to participate in post-season play, but they will probably forfeit a couple scholarships in the sports affected and would be skating on thin anice for the next two years. It looks like the NCAA is going to go along w/ the recommended punishment and not too mention that FSU is still suspending the guilty players for the first 3 games of the season. The number is between 17-19 w/ 7 being starters.
actually OSU did this a couple of years ago in roundball and it worked....that is the year Matta told the Thad 5 if they got put on probation he would release them from their LOI's so they could sign elsewhere...good move on FSU's part to potentially mitigate any future NCAA action...

You do realize that half this country has referred to FSU as Free Shoes University for nearly or over a decade now... I'm pretty sure that this nickname was garnered from a clean image...

Well atleast in these shitty times i got to fish some people.
Yes, I know how most the country sees FSU. It was a joke.
I was told to ride out the storm back in 2002. That we would get back into the swing of things soon enough. I still havent seen the light at the end of the tunnel

As far as image I think we get a bad rap. For example, every one fails to mention that Peter warrick did in fact have a reciept for his Dillard's "purchases".
Fuck the ACLU. It will always be Merry Christmas to me.
