Pittsburgh Steelers, 2004 AFC Champions
It figures that Belichick had to cheat to beat the Steelers in 04.
http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/02/ ... ice-durin/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In fact, it turns out Belicheat cheated throughout the entire decade.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3244687" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In a perfect world, Belicheat would be banned for life from the NFL and Robert Kraft would be forced to sell the Patriots.
But I'll settle for the Patriots "dynasty" becoming the laughingstock of the NFL.

There is absolutely no doubt that the "dynasty" tag is a joke. This organization is pile of crap, and it all starts with the owner. Kraft swallows Bellidick's baby batter, so there's no doubt he knew of his coaches tactics. It sure will be fun to watch Patfan try to spin their way out of this one.

Re: Pittsburgh Steelers, 2004 AFC Champions
Later Thursday, the Steelers released a statement that read: "We consider the tapes of our coaching staff during our games against the New England Patriots to be a nonissue. In our opinion, they had no impact on the results of those games. The Steelers fully support the manner in which commissioner Goodell handled the situation and the discipline that he levied against those who violated league rules. We are confident that the commissioner has taken appropriate action in his investigation of this matter, and will do so again if new information arises which requires further investigation and/or discipline."
Until I know that a tape exists then I will say that the first sentence is a little cloudy. Otherwise it looks like your own team could care less. Could it be that they want to prevent the NFL from looking at any skeletons in their closet? Maybe or maybe not. I am sure the other 31 teams have gone through their libraries and burned everything already anyway.
The people of Pennsylvania should really be ashamed of their representation. Specter's two top campaign contributors: Comcast's Lawyers, and Comcast itself. Who is in a battle with the NFL right now? Comcast. So now Comcast will go after the NFL in the most egregious of ways......on your taxpayer dollars!

Uhm, might wanna crack a newspaper.
Goodell testified under oath that such tapes indeed existed, dating back to 2000.
Sorry you had to find out this way.
You guys aren't quite in Chargertards' league, but you're closing the gap very quickly.

Were they of the six that were provided to the league? So the commish punished the Patriots already based on this information correct?Dinsdale wrote:Neely8 wrote:I have heard alot of speculation, but have yet to see any new "evidence".....

The new evidence is that your team is a fucking travesty. Like Dins said, the commish testified UNDER OATH that the cheatriots had been cheating since 2000. Small wonder that they were able to turn a mid season beatdown into a tainted AFC title.Neely8 wrote:Wake me when there is NEW evidence.....

He testified that he punished them based on the information he had. Has any new information/evidence come out? No.... Therefore the commish knew about this when he handed down his ruling correct? Oh and the team you so dearly love says your full of crap on the "tainted" comment. See the quote from your own teams owner above......
Oh and now an ex no name Ram player is suing the Pats. Brilliant!!! A baseless lawsuit with no proof. That should go far.......

The evidence that came out this week is new to anybody outside of the commissioner's office. Of course anybody with a brain suspected the cheatriots of cheating their way to all 3 "titles". But now Goodell has confirmed that suspicion. I could care less what his punishment was based on. The fact remains that your team is now the fucking laughingstock of the NFL.

Oh Bri I am so sorry you feel that way. I will have a special T-Shirt printed up just for you. Squeelers 2004 AFC Pussies. Why don't you go file a lawsuit then. Bunch of fucking crybaby pussies. Boo Hoo. Did the Patriots supposedly knowing your plays help Troy Brown block a punt and lateral it for a TD? How about when he returned that punt for a TD? Blow it out your ass you self righteous turd.

The sound of cheatriot fans screaming to defend their joke of a franchise is music to my ears. Can anybody remember a time when the cheatriots used to be considered the "model" NFL franchise? When Belicheat was considered a genius? When cheatriots fans weren't taking KFC Paul style pile ons?

Do you even understand just how fucking retarded you look posting all this bullshit about "the Cheatriots" and "Bellicheat"? For fuck's sake, you replaced RaydahFan's incessant crying and whining about the "Tuck" rule as the most ridiculous bunch of bitches ever to post on this board.
"Cut it the FUCK loose, already."
Seriously, if you're insisting on whining, crying, and generally BITCHING about the Patriots from here on out then this entire board might as well be TROTS'ed. I have no desire in reading anymore of that ridiculous horseshit. You can't do shit about it, so why continue to be a bitch about it?

It was a PC reply. And that underlined part? That's what you should focus on. Rooney didn't want to sound like LaCuntian Tomlincunt, but he made it clear that should anything else "pop up" like Walsh coming through with the evidence that he expects restitution.Neely8 wrote:I defer to Dan Rooney the Owner of your Pigsburgh Squeelers:

We get it, they cheated. <---Insert gif of dead horse being beaten here
The reason that I don't have much of a problem with it is that there is no doubt in my mind that they weren't the only team doing it...they were just the first to get caught. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that at least half of the NFL teams were doing it and/or still doing it or they wouldn't have made a rule forbidding it in the first place.
Teams have used spies at practices, videotapes of offensive and defensive signals, copies of playbooks when a coach or player switches teams, etc, etc, since the game went professional and NOW there's all this outrage about it like the Patriots were the first team in NFL history to cheat? Gimme a break.
In fact, I guess the only problem that I have with it is that for the most part they really haven't needed to do it. They've had solid teams and solid coaches for this entire decade. And especially this year, with all of that talent on that team, it seems pretty stupid to take the risk of getting caught.
Even though they were underdogs in several of their Superbowl winning seasons, the only one that I would even consider truly "surprising" is their win over the Rams. If you don't recall the details of the game, go read over it here: Super Bowl XXXVI...and then tell me that the fix was in. There were three HUGE game-changing plays in that game, two of which favored the Pats and one of which favored the Rams, none of which would have been affected in any way by a videotape of the game's walkthrough.

Now think of all the other teams that have won as many as 3 titles in 6 years. Those rosters are filled with perennial Pro Bowlers and Hall of Fame players.
Remember when people would continually credit the genius coaching of Billicheat for their success?
If it doesn't at least make you wonder, then you're not really thinking.

How many HOFers from the Niners first SuperBowl win? Joe Montana and...?
How many from their second? Joe Montana, Randy Cross, Jerry Rice and...?
In fact, I'd venture to say that MOST Super Bowl winning teams only have a handful of HOFers on them.
Who would go in from the Rams SB-winning team? Probably Warner, Orlando Pace and Marshall Faulk, but who else? I don't think any of their receivers are deserving. They were all very good, but I wouldn't consider any of them "great".

Warner? Holt is more deserving than Warner.....OCmike wrote: Who would go in from the Rams SB-winning team? Probably Warner, Orlando Pace and Marshall Faulk, but who else? I don't think any of their receivers are deserving. They were all very good, but I wouldn't consider any of them "great".

How you could call yourself a 9er fan and forget Ronnie Lott completely fucking escapes me.OCmike wrote:How many HOFers from the Niners first SuperBowl win? Joe Montana and...?
How many from their second? Joe Montana, Randy Cross, Jerry Rice and...?
In fact, I'd venture to say that MOST Super Bowl winning teams only have a handful of HOFers on them.
I'll give you the Niners, sort of. Though a simple look at the number of Pro-Bowl selections indicates still that the 9ers had more "name" players than the Pats.

Yeah, because it's not like Warner is statistically the best passer in NFL history or anything.
But, his stay at the top was too short for serious HoF consideration.

Very bad takes here.OCmike wrote:This non-Patriots fan and non-Patriots hater isn't laughing. In fact, I wish you'd all just shut the fuck up about it. It's over, done with, end of story, yada yada yada.
The league commish destroyed evidence relating to the Patriots.
The arrogance of such a move is beyond belief.
Any semi-intelligent fan of the league ought to be troubled by that.
Of course there is a REASON he destroyed evidence.
Oh hell, just chow down a handful of beer nuts and fugghetabout it, already.
If you want to imagine that cheating is rampant, go ahead and think so.
To date, NO evidence has been produced to support your belief.
What HAS been brought forth is that the Patsies cheated.
And the extent to which they cheated is still under investigation.

I disagree- Mike's takes were well thought out and very eloquently put down.poptart wrote:Very bad takes here.
Only to a hater and a RaydahFan there is. CLEARLY the rest of the league thinks otherwise: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3259278" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The league commish destroyed evidence relating to the Patriots.

Agreed- you should heed your own advice and STFU about it already. The punishment's been handed out and it's time to move on. PERIOD.Oh hell, just chow down a handful of beer nuts and fugghetabout it, already.

Seriously Pops, in this day and age of high-tech electronic communications you REALLY don't think that at least SOME of the other NFL teams haven't dabbled in trying to intercept radio communications between QBs and their OCs??? Or maybe some teams employ guys with high-powered telescopes that are trying to steal hand signals used to call audibles and such? If you DON'T think at least some of them aren't doing so then you're about the most naive fucktool known to mankind.

True, but only because of a Pennsylvania senator that's still bent because the Patriots did BOTH of his states NFL teams in '07....and he's in a election year.
