And a lot of the smoke and crap flowing through that bottle is processed out in the bubbles. If you don't believe me, take a drag on a cig and blow into a straw with the other end in soapy water. Look at how much smoke is trapped in the bubbles. Water isn't a perfect filter but it effectively illustrates the nature of tar in cigarettes.
