I don't trust any microsoft product out the door. I'd wait until the first set of bug fixes is released.

It's a method of delivering dynamic content. It is meant to compete with flash and other things such as ajax. Essentially, it is a way for them to try to wrap those types of things into their proprietary channel. I don't think there's anything to worry about regarding that install. It's akin to installing the latest flash player or QuickTime plugin.
