It’s time, Fester. He’d be 39 next year. Glad to see him going out (almost) on top.

Re: Dammitalltohell: Favre Retiring
I don't think it's time, at least not physically. McCarthy has the perfect system for Favre with the short drop, quick-strike offense. He doesn't have to hold the ball and get pounded.
Favre can still play. He threw for 4,155 yards, 28 touchdowns, against only 15 picks. He led the team to a 13-3 record, made All-Pro, and lost in overtime to the eventual Super Bowl champs.
I went to the Lions game at Lambeau and thought, shit, this guy could play into his 40's.
I guess it's moot now.

That's because he was playing against the Lions. 3 weeks later, at home, against the Giants in the NFC Championship game, he looked like crap.Uncle Fester wrote:I went to the Lions game at Lambeau and thought, shit, this guy could play into his 40's.
Favre going to be 39, he has his ring and he has all the records that matter. I'm sure he could still muster up some stats next year. But I don't see how he's going to improve on last year. And, as you could plainly see, last year's version of Brett Favre wasn't enough to win a Super Bowl.

Re: Dammitalltohell: Favre Retiring
He also looked like crap against the Cowboys and Bears. Not so coincidentally, those games were also near the end of the regular season. I suppose he could hook up with Brian McNamee and extend his career another 3-4 years. But there's no way an HONEST player is going to play QB at a Pro-Bowl level into his 40s.mvscal wrote:So did Tom Brady. Is he getting too old? Shouldn't he retire, as well? What about Romo? He looked ten pounds of hammered dogshit in a five pound bag against that pass rush. I guess it's time for him to hang up the cleats.BSmack wrote:against the Giants...he looked like crap.
The only reason Favre is retiring is because he fucking feels like it. He's lost nothing off his arm and he's still mobile. No question at all that he could play 3 or 4 more years at an all-pro level.
BTW: It looks like I'm not the only one who saw the writing on the wall regarding Favre's performance. It appears the Packers organization wasn't overly keen on having Favre back. At least that's what Favre's agent is saying.

Apparently Favre's MO is to say he's thinking of retiring and then wait for the Packers to beg for him to come back. Looks like this time the Packers front office didn't feel like begging.

well now i have to turn off espn for the next week since they will be sucking his dick more than ever.
3rd best QB of all time. BS! He only had one Superbowl win and lost to the horse tooth jackass the next year.
Is he one of the best? Yes. But better than Bradshaw, Elway, Otto Graham, not even close.

Why is it some fukkers say, but, but, you can still play? You CAN'T quit yet!!! Quit AFTER you become the financial security of a dozen or so orthopods.
I say rack him. Yeah, he came pretty fukking close to winning it all, but, if he had, some fukks would have used that as a reason to keep subjecting himself to being blindsided by 290 lb DEs.
Fukk that shit. Go play golf, fish or just bang the three chicks in wisconsin that aren't overweight. You earned it, you coonass fukker.

Funny to see a self-acknowledged fatass calling others overweight.

Yeah, takes one to know one, pot, kettle, blahhh, blahhh, blahhh.
Ofcourse when I was in A school in Great Lakes, we used to go on whaling expeditions to kenosha. I wasn't fat back then, but, I still knew a fat chick when I saw one.

Kenosha is an armpit and always has been. If you want to get some good looking broads in that city, go to the Grand Geneva or the Inntowner during the spring, summer, and fall.
While I did loathe Wisconsin whilst living there, I would have to say that there are a significant number of good looking women in the state. Milwaukee to an extent but Madison was Ground Zero for good looking bitches of all races.

Speaking of Favruh getting back to all redneck in the little town o' kiln, has anyone seen bbq emonster?
Somehow, I think those two are hanging from the same shower rod, probably clutching each other in a death grip with dried tears on their faces.
Aaron Rodgers will make people think Dan Majkowski was good.
