USC wins this game by DOUBLE DIGITS....Tim Floyd is far and away a better coach than Frank Martin, who despite having TWO MickeyD's All Americans continues to let his team get plungered by lesser teams (sup' Mizzou, Nebraska, aTm). ![Rolling Eyes :meds:](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Re: A.J. Mayo vs. Michael Beasley in 1st Round
i love a good made for TV event. i wish "the committee" would just draw names out of a hat rather than try and script marketable TV moments for us.
and the pod system still sucks. Memphis looking at playing UT in Houston-some reward for being a #1 seed. and, USC playing KSU 2.5 hours drive from Manhattan.
plus the whole rationale behind the "pod system" is disingenuous. originally, it was introduced to allay airline travel fear after 9/11 (they said)....but, apparently something like it was in the works and it's now here to stay. they just shoehorned the 9/11 logic to implement the change. no more send the top seed to some cold empty gym in Ogden to guarantee a "neutral site"...someone convinced the NCAA that the opposite "philosophy" of competition was the way to go....protect the higher seeds and make some coin in the process. Big name teams+1 cinderella is the wetdream of the networks and NCAA.
i don't see a #1 Carolina or Duke playing UT in Houston any time soon. if i'm Memphis, i'd rather take the 2 draw and play the regional final in Nashville than the 1.
(yes, this is the yearly attenuated anti-pod system screed--next up on the Spring screed docket, March through April, the official months of the Bard of Sport: Jim Nantz. Big Dance and the Masters, somebody tell the guy he's not Shakespeare).
edit: and Seth Greenberg, STFU. Bob Valvano said it best, the tournament field isn't about the best 64 teams. you knew that going in Seth.

Paul, of all the possible responses to having KYOA, "LMAO" would be the least appropriate.RevLimiter wrote:Or NOT. Just so I'm CRYSTAL CLEAR on your take Wags, are you saying that laughing at myself because my prediction of the USC/K-State game was so far wrong it's ridiculous is BAD?War Wagon wrote:Paul, of all the possible responses to having KYOA, "LMAO" would be the least appropriate.
