The Palouse grows wheat which sustains life.

I predict UNC will NOT pass the century mark in this game.

Not without pumping rivers dry to irrigate that nasty dry shithole. Massive irrigation causes environmental imbalance, which leads to death.

Pretty much the best offensive team against pretty much the best defensive team... lets get it on.

Yep. They held KSU to their lowest point total all season.

78 points.

That's the opposition scoring total for the two games played so far....

Yeah that broke the record for fewest points allowed in first 2 games in the shot clock era of NCAA Tourney which was 81 . . . held by Wazzu for about 2 hours!

My math tells me 81, but still very impressive indeed. Winthrop's scoring offense is somewhere near the bottom of D1, so they gave WSU a little extra help there. Wisky gave up 56 and 55 respectively to two very good offensive teams. Not too shabby either.

Of course I'm homering for the Big Ten here, but...in fairness, they're both excellent defensive teams...Wisky is #1 in scoring defense, and Wash St right behind. However you could argue Wash State's numbers are more impressive considering they (likely) had to defend against more offensively-capable teams from start to finish this season.

Yeah. Screw an entire season's worth of statistics. Let's just focus on two games.

Genius take.

You're (likely) doing a Marcus Allen impersonation, right?

Why bother holding the tourney? I mean, we have an entire season's statistics to tell us UNC is the best team, and Western Kentucky, Xavier, and Villanova have no business in the postseason.

But guess what? It's that "what have you done for me lately time of year.

They held the #7 and #26th ranked scoring teams in the nation to 56 and 55 respectively.

Wisky HAS done it lately. And in the past. And everywhere in between. They also do it on the boards.

Quit picking on Dinsdale. It's bad enough the U&L has to take a back seat to God's Country for microbrews and cheese.

There's these places in the U&L called Tillamook and Bandon, and as far as mass-produced cheddar goes, Wisconsin can't even pretend to hang.

Ignore him. He's flagrantly trolling. We'll just give him a warning, and if his stupidity doesn't cease and desist, we'll simply cut off their supply of hops.

Although I'm still not sure of the connection between Wazzu and the U&L comes from -- Wazzu is in the Midwest.

Sadly they don't make Bandon Cheese in Bandon anymore. Just like they don't brew Oly in Tumwater anymore, they brew Miller. Really one of the biggest examples of corporate abuses out there . . . they brew Miller in Tumwater and they brew Oly in Wisconsin.

We prefer the term Inland Northwest or Inland Empire.

UCLA - 70 Miss Valley St. 29
UCLA - 51 aTm 49

29 + 49 = 78

I knew that Tillamook had bought out Bandon, but I didn't realize they'd shut it down in Bandon.

Really? I thought they'd shut down that antiquated place altogether. I guess I don't get as pumped for the free brewery tour driving through Oly like I used to.

You don't seem to understand. I'm from the freaking capital of the U&L. That region was "invented," alright...

By us.

But it's known as the "Arid Shithole," not some other goofy name.

Isn't there like several times as many people in Tri-Cities as there is a Spokane, anyway?

Regardless, if you refer to Spokane as a "cultural hub," you are an unmitigated loser who has very thoroughly KYOA.

Great visual, though...

Spokanian: So, what brings you to Spokane?

Recent Spokane Transplant: The culture!

I'm getting the giggles even thinking about it.

I'm not anywhere around there, and that's what I know as the Inland Empire. The shit east of LA and whatsuch, although I certainly couldn't define the limits.

Not to be confused with the "inland abomination," which is the cities on the other side of the lake from Seattle.

Back on topic. The much more interesting subtext to this game is that Roy Williams criticized Tony’s father’s coaching style; I believe it was during the 2000 tournament when the Badgers made the Final Four. Hopefully, Tony will make like George W. Bush and gain revenge for his pappy.
