Wow......not sure I can take this Kansas basketball post-season shit anymore. That was a stressful freaking game. Hats off to Davidson, that is a fine basketball team. Neverless that would have been as nasty a defeat as Kansas has ever had in the tourney. And I know you guys know that as a Kansas fan I have plenty of sickening post-season defeats to talk about.

That was a miserable game to watch and then when Davidson got the ball back with a three to win......ugh, the game really ceased to be fun at that point. Holy smokes, my ticker can't take that any more!

Now bring on the Tarheels, should be one hell of a game.

KU dodged a bullet, that's for sure.

As a Mizzoufan, I'm supposed to root against the 'hawks and hate them like Quantrill hated Lawrence, but strangely enough, I found myself throwing my arms up over my head when Rush hit a three.

I'm hoping I get over this phase, but in the meantime...

Go Gayhawks!

Kansas vs. UNC is like having to choose between OBL and Hitler in a grudge cage match...

Mook,

Had Kansas lost that game you'd consider it a tougher pill to swallow than the 1997 loss to Arizona? That's the best Kansas team i've ever seen. I'd say it's even better than this year's squad or the team that lost to Syracuse in the championship game. If I were a Jayhawk fan, I'd probably be more pissed over that loss even though it wouldn't have been in as dramatic of fashion as the loss to Davidson would have been had that last shot gone down.

Besides I fucking hate Roy Williams because of that. Sumbitch cost me my NCAA Tournament pool at school that year because he didn't win it all. That was one of my best years for picking the games except for Kansas. Instead of finishing 1st out of at least 50 or so people, I ended up middle of the pack. You'd think 11 years later I'd let it go........but I can't!!

I actually think this Kansas team is one of the three best Kansas teams over the last 20+ years. The 1986 team was exceptional and they lost in the Final Four to Duke. Louisville, who Kansas had already beaten twice that year won the title. The 97 team is also on the list and now this squad. I'm sure I've never seen a deeper Kansas team. The 97 loss to Arizona was tough at the time, but in hindsight that was an Arizona team with a lot of talent, Mike Bibby and Jason Terry were both on the team. This loss would have been tough to swallow. Obviously there is no shame in losing in the Elite Eight, and any team you play in that round is a legit team. Just would have been brutal to lose with this team. The team that lost to Syracuse had some very nice players but nowhere near the depth that this team has.

Personally, I think KU matches up very well with Carolina and I think Kansas should get a lot of easy baskets. If KU takes care of the ball I believe they will beat Carolina and score a lot of points in the process. I think a 90-85 type game is a very reasonable expectation.

i thought that was a very strange game to watch. KU looked really uncomfortable at times on O, and somehow got away from taking it into the paint on the dribble....until the last 6 minutes or so. and Davidson seemed content to play the O around the perimeter, anytime they passed the ball into the paint or even below the FT line....it looked strange visually on your TV since they did it so rarely. DU big's were really bad about taking the ball straight up at the hoop after a offensive RB. intimidated. get a foul and go to the line, instead they bought time for KU to collapse on them by taking the ball down to their knees and double clutching and whatnot.

i was surprised as others noted in the other thread that Davidson had such a strange last possession. sure, you put the ball in Curry's hands....but you got to have an outlet. #15 is wide open in the lane. defender completely leaves him.

edit: i also think playing on that elevated floor would SUCK OUT LOUD. game starts on the floor, not for the consumer. JMO. one play, a DU player goes hustling "off the end"...and he's can't get back in the play because he's got climb back onto the floor.
