As I was watching the game just before that play, I thought to myself, "Here comes the QB draw..." How could Pittsburgh not be thinking the same thing? Baffling...War Wagon wrote:Helluva' exciting and intense football game. Rack the Jags and David Garrard. That QB draw on 4th and 2 was a brilliant play call and executed to perfection.

I damn sure wouldn't have blitzed Troy Polamolu to the outside. Especially since he tried on 3rd down and was ridden out of the play perfectly by either Jones-Drew.OCmike wrote:As I was watching the game just before that play, I thought to myself, "Here comes the QB draw..." That being said, poor tackling was also to blame on that play. AT 6'1" and 250lbs, Gerrard is a load to take down, and you can't arm tackle him.

Of course, this just proves that the best way to avoid getting screwed by the refs is to play a better game than your opponents for the first 59 minutes so they're not in a position to screw you during the last minute.Playoff flag that wasn't thrown
Mike Pereira, the NFL's head of officiating, admitted yesterday that his crew working the Steelers-Jaguars playoff game erred in not calling a holding penalty against Jacksonville on a crucial play that allowed the Jaguars to kick the winning field goal.
Quarterback David Garrard scrambled on fourth-and-2 from the Steelers 43 and made the first down. Three plays later, Josh Scobee kicked a field goal, giving the Jaguars a 31-29 victory. Several Steelers players complained there was blatant holding on Garrard's run. Nearly three months later, Pereira agreed with them.
Tomlin declined to comment on Pereira's admission.

Wow three months later huh?? I wonder how long it will take them to review the play in the SB where Eli escaped and Tyree caught it on his helmet. Two holding calls on that play were missed. I won't be holding my breath for an apology from the NFL anytime soon....

Seriously dude, lighten up a bit. I'm pretty sure the review of the game will show Pats O-Line holding too - albeit unsuccessfully.
It was a great game, one of the best I've ever seen. Scratch that, of course I loved the games the Skins have been in, but I'd even have to give this game the nod as THE BEST over them.
The bottom line is Eli did not want to go down and Tyree wanted the ball more than Harrison. That's it. Is there video of this on the net anywhere ? I'd love to see this "holding".

That's good, because nobody gives a fuck about your shit franchise anymore. Like I said about the Steelers, the Pats should have played better the first 59 minutes.Neely8 wrote:Wow three months later huh?? Wow you really are a bitter fuck. I agree with you that the NFL sucks and there apologies 3 months after games is hilarious. In return you insult me. And to think I invited you up here to watch the Pats V Squeelers with a free ticket. Glad I didn't waste it on an ungrateful douche like yourself...

I never said any such thing. Bad calls are a part of every game. And I won't for a second pretend that the Steelers deserved to win that game against Jacksonville.Neely8 wrote:Wow you really are a bitter fuck. Tom I understand that there are penalties that are not called on both teams. My point was that I find it hilarious that they feel the need to come out months afterwards and apologize. It's like sticking a knife in after a wound has already healed. As for the holding on that play I can provide right now the following photo:
![Image](http://i.cdn.turner.com/sivault/image/2008/02/03/op77-9754.jpg)
Possibly Richard Seymour could have sacked Manning if he was not in a bear hug with Sean O'Hara's arm wrapped around his head.
The following link is to a blog that points out mistakes made againast both teams icluding the holding on this play.
http://www.beloblog.com/Pe_Blogs/prospo ... er_su.html
Mistakes are made. Referees are human. I just don't need the NFL to apologize after the fact. I liked it when they never used to do that. Made it easier....

Crappy picture. At least the dude breaks down the other "non-calls" and "missed things" that went to the Pats favor.
I disagree that the NFL should be embarassed. It's part of the game.

Missing calls is part of the game. Has been for as long as I can remember. Just don't give me a hollow apology three months later. The NFL should just let it die rather then throwing salt into wounds.
How is that a crappy picture?? Do you not see O'Hara's arm around Seymour? Hell he is even behind him no less. It is obvious Seymour beat him to the inside, got a hand on Manning and O'Hara wrapped his arm around him. Looks pretty blatent to me.....

Re: It's awfully quiet in shitsburg
My eyes are pretty shitty, number one. At first look tt doesn't appear to me to "conclusively" be his arm around Seymours neck, it's kind of shadowy in there.
Right Click "Save As" and Zoom, it looks like an arm. How long was the arm there ? Was Seymour spinning, swimming, and reaching underneath, doing anything to get to Manning ?
I'd like to see a video before I say it was blatant "Holding".
I still maintain, Manning was fighting harder to NOT be tackled than these cats were to tackle him, so he won. I count six "blue socks" within proximity, that's THREE Patriots, TWO with Manning within their grasp. He moves into Seymour he's down, towards the other guy - he's down, backwards - he's done. He moved forward and broke Seymour's grasp - because he kept FIGHTING.
Manning was composed, ballsy, gutsy, never quits, that's just an OLD SCHOOL FOOTBALL play right there my man.

IMPOSSIBLE to argue that - Patriots O-line took most of that day off.
Go Patriots! ! ! !
