Well yeah, I realized the pics were for a hurricane, etc. No need to throw bombs for hell of it, eh?

I was about 20 miles from the epicenter of the Northridge quake, while staying at a friend's house in Venice. She was completely freaking out doing the "OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD"- routine. On the plus side, I spent the entire shaking time trying to calm her down rather than getting scared shitless myself. That shit was NO FUCKING JOKE.

A similar quake in Turkey kills 40,000 as their mudhuts collapsed on entire families, but she just ended up losing power and getting a hairline crack in the textured surface of her bedroom wall. I think, what, 20 people died in that quake? And if I recall correctly, all or virtually all were in one apartment building that collapsed in Northridge.

Anywho, we went to a nearby store that was taking cash purchases even though the power was out (rack them), bought a case of beer, a pack of cards and some candles, went back to the apartment, got shitfaced, fooled around and played cards the rest of the night. All around a solid experience. :D

Oh, almost forgot the best part of all... As proof that nogs will loot anything, we were walking back from the liquor store and there was a thick plate glass window that was shattered at one of those Big!Lots stores, allowing access from the street. Just inside the window were stacks and stacks of toilet paper that were being carried off by the stack by some "enterprising" spearchuckers. That's right, they looted asswipe. Props, I guess... :meds:

You forgot "mudslides, illegal immigrants, police brutality and race riots."
