The point is, that the Jews that run your mainstream media don't like Wright, and they wanna convince you that you shouldn't either.

I watched it. As I saw it, his point was to answer Moyer's questions as best he could. Was it his use of big words that confused you?

I didn't see the moyer interview.

What I did see was some slick old dude go on. and on, and on about how whites and blacks really are different in ways other than skin color. Martin Luther King must be spinning in his grave.

And btw, why is it that guys like this pos who has more than a little "european american" blood flowing in his veins get to speak for african americans?

Has he yet come up with an explanation for the "god damn america" speech?

Hillary must be loving this.

I haven't seen any indication this is happening within the party, he's getting endorsed by a bunch of different people and he is closer to the nomination than Hilary. He's won a lot of primaries and stayed close in others no one thought he'd do well in. Is this just one of your beliefs, or are you seeing something somewhere to indicate he's done?

AP shows Clinton leading both of the other two, and democrats are registering in record numbers.

Not that polls reflect accurately, but in reality Mccain is scary old and Obama has the race card working against him.

71 is fine if you're handing out putters and orange golf balls.

Why should we feel good about having a guy who's a few yrs over friggin' RETIREMENT age step into the highest office in the world??

It's a fairly difficult and stressful gig, or so I'm told.

Nice to know that discrimination/prejudice against age is still alive and well in America---
thanks for the verification !

OK Wolfman, put up or shut up...

Decision time...

You're in an airplane. This airplane is over the open sea, and has just encountered a nasty, nasty, life-threatening storm.

You have the choice of two pilots to deliver you home safely. Both have the same amount of professional experience. One is 35 years old, the other is 80.

Who do you want flying the plane?

It ain't "age discrimination" -- it's "reality." One we all (hopefully) have to face. But just because it's a reality, doesn't mean we need to ignore the other realities that come with it.

Stupid fucking take, dude.

There are plenty of good reasons not to vote for him, but this isn't one of them.
Would part of the "rigors of campaigning" require that McCain remember the difference between Sunni and Shia? You know, that prolonged flub that Brit Hume called a "senior moment".
I think it’s probably just a blip, but it was a bigger blip than he wanted or needed at the time. I think the overall impression of the trip was this is a man welcomed by, knowledgeable of and comfortable with foreign leaders across a big part of the globe. But the mistake, nonetheless, raises questions not about his knowledgability—we all kinda believe he has that—the question, perhaps, about his age, which is an issue. You know, the feeling was not that he’s a dope, didn’t know his way around, that he might have had a senior moment there, and I think that’s unfortunate for him. But I think probably the trip was a net plus.

If that's the best arguement the Dems have against McCain being president, they're in for a world of frustration.

Did you hear the context of that statement? It's not like he got up on the podium and started burning a flag. He went from slavery to lynching to Tuskegee airmen to segregation to back of the bus to shitty schools in black cities, point, point, point, "And you say, 'God Bless America?!" No, 'God DAMN America!'"

I heard the speech about a month ago, so you'll have to excuse me if I don't quote him word for word, but that was essentially the gist of it as I recall. I'm hardly going to rack the dude, because I think this kind of victim mentality is extremely harmful to today's black youth, considering the opportunities they have in this country, but a lot of what the guy said was just historical fact. You and I may not like the way he used those facts or the exclamation point he dropped at the end while throwing all Americans under the bus, but it's his opinion and his pulpit.

I *do* have a problem with my potential President going to church with a guy like that, but not if that was the most militant black sermon Wright's ever done. I was raised in a church and there were plenty of times I was put off by what the minister(s) said, but the next week the message was something different. Sometimes I liked it, sometimes I didn't. If Wright normally preaches about God to his congregation and just went off one Sunday, I don't have a problem with it (other than the fact that he's almost as white as I am). But if he lobs out sermons like that every weekend, then yeah, it's a BIG problem that Obama's been going there all these years.

If Obama truly wanted to distance himself from Wright, as he does now, he could have done so any time in the past twenty years by going to a different church.

Sorry for hijacking the thread back on topic. :D

edit to add...

BTW, one thing that I do find particularly abhorrent about Wright's behavior is that he's essentially become (in)famous because of Obama's candidacy and rather than try to help Obama out by being humble and keeping to the shadows, Wright has turned into a press whore. Is there any show that guy WON'T go on? He's worse than a has-been reality show star that appears on game shows, "celebrity" shows, talk shows, other reality shows, etc. GET OFF MY TV ALREADY!!!
