No Parking on the Dance Floor
I was watching American Idol the other night (yes, I watch that shit ), and they had the whole group of 12 people singing Midnight Star's "No Parking on the Dance Floor". People were reacting like they'd never heard that song before. Surprise, surprise.
Besides "Operator", Midnight Star has some really kick ass songs that deserve to be known. So I'm calling it now... "No Parking on the Dance Floor" will make a comeback.

this is cheesy but 'sign your name' - you gotta admit,
that's one of the best love songs ever.
to me, it ranks right up there with the whole Lloyd Dobbler/In Your Eyes thing.
I'll give you one of my favorite love songs.
"I'd Die Without You"-PM Dawn. I teared up the first time I heard it. At the time me,and my girl had JUST broken up. And the song pretty much described our last 2 weeks as a couple.

Greatest love song
Prince- Purple Rain
Not the song, the whole fucking album. I was 18 when that came out and it was like magic superfly potion. That short little fucker helped me out a lot.
2nd would be side 1 of Alan Parsons Greatest Hits.

Assasin, for a minute there I thought the guy in your sig picture WAS Terrance Trent D'Arby.
I had No Parking on the Dance Floor in my head all day yesterday. Had to go home and break out the Midnight Star CDs. OMG, thought I was transported back to the early 80's for a minute there.
I did see Midnight Star live last summer. I was totally surprised they were still together. My husband and I stood out in that crowd like 2 marshmellows in a vat of hot chocolate. But it was good times... lots of dancing and groovin'. They have a new album out called 15th Avenue, but it's not available on Amazon.

they're lovesong listening to me too, but in the daughter/dad way.
i remember my dad driving me to school as a kid,
listening to them in his hunter green firebird.
them and America and Moody Blues
and Neil Young and sometimes Cheech and Chong.
i really thought my dad was nails.
time to dig in the crates, used to play their stuff on the weekends.KatMode wrote:Assasin, for a minute there I thought the guy in your sig picture WAS Terrance Trent D'Arby.
