The difference is, Huckadouche would turn the country into a rigid theocracy instead of the socialist paradise that Obigot would make it.

I'm talking media bias...you're talking coverage. Lets get back to your statement and how it concerns the topic at hand, or are you trying to change the subject?BSmack wrote:I'm sorry, I missed the part where the media wasn't covering this. I know you wouldn't make a statement unless you had a valid example Bri., so pull it out and show me where the media took a freeking bookcase in the background, turned it into a cross and portrayed a Democratic candidate as a religious zealot.

The problem is, the whole point of the article you linked to is that coverage, or lack thereof equals bias. Obviously the subject in question is being covered or a bbs poster in San Diego wouldn't know what the hell is going on in an Obama campaign office in Kentucky.ChargerMike wrote:I'm talking media bias...you're talking coverage.
Apples and hand grenades Evel. Your side is now bitching about Obama using religious imagery the same way the left bitched about Huckabee. That's the comparison. ...no, my side is bitching that the media is crucifying (humor) Huckabee because some hack suddenly sees a cross in the dividers of a bookcase, and give Obama a complete pass on his pandering to Evangelicals.

Pandering? Make up your mind dude. Is it only OK for Republicans to use religious imagery?ChargerMike wrote:...no, my side is bitching that the media is crucifying (humor) Huckabee because some hack suddenly sees a cross in the dividers of a bookcase, and give Obama a complete pass on his pandering to Evangelicals.

You know damned well ChargerMike is pointing out the obvious fact that when a Republican poises in front of a religious symbol he's "crucified" yet when a Democract like Obama does - it barely gets a mention.
It is okay for either of them to exploit religion in order to get votes ? I don't think so. I think it's insulting. Propose ideas to better the country and vote on issues that serve to serve this country. I don't give a flying fuck what you on Sunday, that's your business.
Obama is probably the most egregious panderer running in this election.

Obviously people in Appalachia feel differently. Obama would be a fool not to point out the faith he has in common with those voters. It is okay for either of them to exploit religion in order to get votes ? I don't think so. I think it's insulting. That must be why he came out in favor of the farce that was the gas tax "holiday".Obama is probably the most egregious panderer running in this election.
Would you feel better if Obama promised to make Colin Powell Secretary of State?

Sin,
MARCUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good to see an old reset. :) Anyway, some of you all are being facetious (I'm not talking about you, Tom) and willfully ignorant. The reason why Obama emphasizing his faith is different from Huckabee -- or anyone else -- emphasizing their faith is because of the rumors going around about Obama being a secret muslim, being the manchurian muslim, being a black muslim bent on 'getting payback on whites', being a half Arab and not really half black, being a muslim because of where he went to school as a child in Indonesia, being a muslim because his father was a muslim as if religion is something that can be passed on genetically (Jews should never have allowed that bullshit thinking to flourish).
You know, the stupid shit like that which doesn't die no matter how often folks like Snopes (or Obama's own autobiography) dismantle the unsubstantiated rumors. Obama emphasizes his Christianity to force the rumormongers who hate muslims -- or who won't vote for a black man, but don't have the balls to say that in public -- to step back and find another tact.
on a short leash, apparently.

Re: Something new..media bias
The BIG difference between the two ads is that Obama is being up front with what he is doing, while Fuckabee tried to play a little head game with his ad.
I am not sold on the depth of Obama's faith in Christ, so I take the ad for what it is -- political pandering.
Happens routinely.
Fuckabee's ad, on the other hand, was a deceptive little mind game.
Just laughable shit.
I'd NEVER vote for either jerk off.

Too bad for you that is not Obama's slogan. Oh sure, I expect Republicans to try to use it again, even after if failed miserably in not 1, but 3 different blood red Congressional districts. It dovetails nicely with their Iraq strategy of repeating the same failed policy over and over again whilst expecting different results.mvscal wrote:God Damn America is a loser of a campaign slogan.

Invading Iraq was a new strategy implemented because the old one didn't work.
Again, by what criteria are you measuring the success and/or failure of Iraq ?

Absolutely nothing new under the sun in time of war, unfortunately.
Bleeding Buckets of Money = Paying Defense Contractors, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who in turn spend money within their respective communities. Remember that for each "evil" corporation there are thousands of employees cashing a paycheck to pay their mortgage, car bill, and send Jr. off to college. Furthermore, there are even more thousands whose 401K programs and investments are tied to the same.
The money gets recirculated. Does it not ?
Cold War for how long ? Stalemate in N. Korea for how long ? Troops still "occupying" the Rhineland and other parts of Europe and Asia ? There is no end in sight. Once we stuck our Eagle's beak into foreign affairs starting with Teddy Roosevelt we hopped on a roller coaster ride that took us through WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and countless "skirmishes" in between each. I don't foresee an ability to peacefully "contract" until we come up with an energy policy that doesn't rely on foreign oil and will enable us to compete with folks like - China - that will get more oil.
Vets have always gotten a raw deal.
Not saying this is all "right", but it's not new and it doesn't equate to "failure" in the immediate sense of the word.
More will be revealed. "Success" in my mind is when we can sustain ourselves nationally and tell the rest of the world - especially your ilk Marty :facetiousthumbofthenose: - to go fuck themselves.
Failure, to me, is when your dreams come true.
The story is still unfolding.
