And this is exactly why McCain is such a poor choice to represent the Republicans.

Honestly, the election is going to be interesting. It would have been with either Obama or Clinton as the Dem nominee. All 3 candidates would be extremely easy to beat, in most years, but somehow each side decided to do their best to sabotage themselves.

McCain is a fucking corpse who delivers speeches as if he's in the middle of having a stroke. The status quo has the worst approval rating possible and Republicans are getting flushed out of office faster than runny shit.

All the dems had to do was trot out somebody in a timely fashion, who would get most of their voters to turn out, and they could have easily beaten that zombie. Instead, they split their party in half.

I don't know what to do for you if you think W is smarter than either Obama. Charitably, I can only say that your faculties of perception appear to be greatly compromised...I hope you get the help you need.

Of all the things to take issue against them with..."they're dumb" is a cop-out. After Chimpy, they'll be sandblasting the stupid off the walls for fucking decades.

Come on, idiots - come a little harder than "They're DUMB!!" and "THEY HATE WHITEY!!!"...if only to make it somewhat interesting this time around.

He decided to run for president thinking that the stupid ass-kissy whites predominate. He has miscalculated in true idiot fashion. He has labored under the impression that enough whites are of the fucking retarded self-hating stripe like Fagler and ayers. He's shocked that whites actually object to the anti white shit spewed out of trinity and his own fucking mouth (see 'Frisco fundraiser).

As for his education etc: self-hating whites can just go on and pretend that Omacaca isn't a W-T Guilt Quota Suckcess Story.

Even IF that were true. He demonstrated somewhere along the lines enough proficiency in academia to merit the opportunity. Quota systems and AA do not take severely underqualified candidates. Typically it involves something along the lines of: 15 slots available 2 must be filled with the most qualified representative of an ethnic group, in this case, black. Granted 2 people who have met the quals will not be given the opportunity but the 2 blacks that are given the opportunity are not that far behind - if at all - in terms of overall potential and demonstrated proficiency.

He's good at trying to judge a KGB ninja's sincerity by "looking into his eyes".

Tom - please. The guy's almost out. You can come clean now...it's OK!

We've all seen him speak, we've seen those mental gears grinding away behind the podium. You think he can make a split-second decision in a fighter jet, if he can't blurt out a couple of the lines his policy wonks worked on with him all morning? You'd want him piloting a vehicle that screams through the sky, dispensing death?

We all KNOW that guy's a simpleton, man. Just EJECT.

Gotta give credit where it's due...

A few years ago I read Shrub by this board's favorite dead political pundit, Molly Ivins. In it, she recounted the story of the initiation rite for entry into the fraternity Dubya was pledging. The pledges, after being introduced to the frat brothers, had to remember all their names. The future CiC was allegedly the only pledge who was able to do it the first time.

But the funnier story in the book, which has been told elsewhere, is the one where "...in 2000 the Houston Chronicle (according to Texas Monthly's "Bum Steer Awards") mistranslated into Spanish the inaugural theme of President Bush's second gubernatorial term, "Together We Can." Instead of Juntos Podemos, the paper translated the phrase as Juntos Pedemos, which means "Together We Fart."

Not quite as funny as JFK solemnly declaring in Berlin that he was a jelly donut.
That's a close one, but my gut tells me that, to most people, farts are funnier than donuts. I'm guessing Chimpy would agree:
Bob Woodward reports in his new book, State of Denial, that President Bush loves to swap fart jokes with Karl Rove. Before a morning senior staff meeting in 2005, Woodward reports, Bush schemed to have Rove sit in a chair that triggered some sort of high-tech whoopee cushion activated by remote control. The prank was postponed in deference to news of the al-Qaida bombings in London. When the gag was carried out two weeks later, the room erupted in riotous laughter while Rove hunted down the culprit.

Perhaps you are puzzled that the president of the United States would embrace so eagerly a genre of humor that the typical male Homo sapiens stops finding irresistible around the age of 12. But Woodward is not the first to report on Bush's fondness for fart jokes, and Bush is not the first member of his family to display this particular affliction.
http://www.slate.com/id/2150806/

But hey, to be fair, it would've been at least equally as funny if Dubya had made Rove sit on a jelly donut. In any language.

I don't have a problem with the fart jokes...as long as they don't comprise the better part of your synaptic acumen. In this case, they do...as anyone who has watched the man or listened to him in unscripted moments where his extemporaneous response is required can amply attest.

I see. So your assertion is that the only reason he had anything close to qualifying credentials is because his teachers/administrators/etc were compelled to push him through regardless of his performance and based solely on his skin color. That would indeed provide a wee bit o' merit to your argument, if it is true.

Okay, prove it happened in Obama's case, por flavor.

Politicians, however, may now have a tantalizing option for the dilemma of whether to deport or not to deport: do nothing at all. The U.S. economic downturn may already be encouraging undocumented workers to leave the country or not come over in the first place. A Pew Hispanic Center report released on Wednesday morning indicates for the first time that the sinking economy has caught up with the Hispanic workforce with a vengeance. The main culprit, says report author Rakesh Kochhar, is job loss in the Latino-heavy construction sector.
