By putting their stipend money on a debit card to which only the school has the routing number and account number. If there's a slip-up then, it's internal, no if's, and's, or but's.IndyFrisco wrote:...and if you want to fuck it all up even more, pay the kids a stipend. Course, you have to pay the girls on the water polo team the same amount you pay the starting running back. Oh, and this will make the money filtering from agents even more common. How can you tell if a kid is buyiing shit with his measly stipends that he saved up for for months or with the cayshe from the runners?
The school's compliance office will get a monthly record of all transactions, so the school will know how much money is on the card at all times, and they'll know if someone bought that new Lexus because they were saving their college money, or because they've got someone else spending money now to be repaid later...
I mean, it's a start...

Looks like some of the next wave of one and done players know they can get paid in Europe.
Why the hell would ANYBODY go to college when they can walk right out the door from high school and into a 6 figure "stepping stone" job? So what if it doesn't work due to injury/talent issues? I'm sure the money he makes just from this year will more than cover college. That is, should he ever need it.Sources close to the process say the Jennings camp has explored numerous options over the past six weeks and garnered multiple professional opportunities in Europe. Each would pay well into the six figures for one season of work, and the most important determination on where Jennings will sign is based on the team’s coaching staff and commitment to his development.
If Jennings isn’t comfortable with the international options, he also could take the year to work with a personal trainer and coach, most likely under the umbrella of a professional sports agent.
Also interested in Jennings, according to industry sources, are shoe companies Nike and Reebok, both of whom might tender an endorsement contract immediately.
