All Big-12 teams gone after tomorrow???

Post by TheJON »

I have Utah over Oklahoma and Southern Illinois over the Cowpokes in my bracket. I had Gonzaga over UCLA in the 2nd round, but I think Gonzaga will beat Texas Tech. And UNC will beat Iowa State by at least 18.

So, I think it's very possible that the big bad Big-12 might not get a Sweet 16 team.

Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Illinois will all advance to the Sweet 16. How funny would that be......3 Big-10 teams in the Sweet 16 and ZERO Big-12 teams!!! That would really shut the Big-12 fans up!!

Other than the rooting for ISU, I agree with everything Mace said.

I too was hoping for UNI to pull off the upset. They played tough, but Whiskey was a bit tougher in the end, unfortunately.

Frozen,

No need to get pissy with me cuz I'm always right. The Big-12 is overrated. Sorry, there's just no way to dispute that. Not one team in the Big-12 is Top 10 material.

T-Tech upsets the 'Zags...lock this thread.

Gonzaga doesn't seem to perform well in the tournament when they're highly rated. Gone are the days of them being the darling of the dance...these guys need to start getting results when it counts most. We've watched this program become a mid-major success story...it's about time they make a huge step forward in becoming a national power.

Well, they took that first step today in completing what Syracuse started... butt-fucking my bracket in the mouth.

Okay, Okay, props to Tech. They did outplay Gonzaga down the stretch and were clearly the tougher team in crunch time. They are a solid team and are probably the best Big-12 team right now. Iowa only beat them by 30.

I did get the OU-Utah game right though, so props to me.

I do think Kelvin Sampson is a very good coach, but I gotta call him out for that loss. Utah was running basically the same stuff all game and OU made ZERO adjustments. Utah was constantly making un-defensed cuts to the basket and getting easy layups/dunks. OU did not make adjustments to that. That's what lost this game for OU. They were so worried about Bogut that they completely forgot about the rest of the team. With OU's frontcourt, I don't think they had to keep doubling Bogut. Eventually Sampson should have realized that his strategy wasn't working. I did like it when OU pressured Utah up the floor. That gave them problems as Utah clearly has trouble dribbling the ball!

Good calls there, Jon. (It still doesn't sound right to say that...) But, in addition to what you mentioned, our major problem was that the shots just were not falling. We had good looks; open looks, that weren't dropping. I said it in a couple of other threads, but, if only our GOOD shots had fallen, we win this game. Sometimes shots don't listen.
