And nukes are a dead-end technology, whereas the other domestic alternatives are open-ended for the future. My opposition to nukes has little to do with the inherent dangers, and mainly to do with it being a shitty technology that needs much much improvement to be efficient and worthwhile. Definite step backwards. The amount of energy required to mine, transport, enrich, and secure uranium makes it pretty much a fucking joke as an energy source.
