Thank GOD

The Padres finished getting stomped by the Bravos
Maybe now management will consider themselves sellers and get on with building a getter team.

How many guys are in play for the Padres? I'd assume the two Gonzalez boys, Greene, Peavy, Young, and Hoffman are "keepers". Wolf has been the name I've heard thrown around the most. I'm sure several contending teams would love to add a lefty to the back of their rotation.

I know the Tigers aren't totally sold on having Eddie Bonine be their 5th starter for the stretch run...I wouldn't be shocked if Dombo makes a move for another arm to get them over for this year. Bonderman is definitely done for this year and Willis most likely not going to be healthy or get back to being a Major League pitcher until next year either. Wolf would be a good short term answer for that problem if they wanted to go that route.

Heath Bell would another attractive piece off that team...but I don't know if trading a quality setup man is all that wise. Then again, you traded away Linebrink to Milwaukee a couple years ago so maybe Bell could be available.

Bell probably has the most trade value of anybody outside Adrian or Peavy.
People ALWAYS have need of a setup guy.

There's trade #1.

Tony Clark to the D-Backs for a minor league pitcher.

Wow, Arizona is really desperate for a bat. What a horrible division. They should lose their right to send a team to the playoffs. I bet Los Angeles ends up winning that division at 80-82.
