I think you will be seeing lots of electric microcars in the future. Or better yet, electric bikes.
Ebikes as they are called are a great idea for out of shape hippies like you, mike. You take a real bike, and add a 500 watt motor built into the wheel hub. It's still a real bicycle, so you can and should pedal, but, some of them will still tool along happily on electrons alone at 25 mph or so.
They seem to be quite popular among cyclists who are a bit older or have longer commutes or just don't want to show up at work a sweaty mess.
Take a look at bikeforums.com It is a really busy board. Yes, even more busy than this place. They have a forum dedicated to ebikes.
Do these little hippymobiles require registration?

Hi, I'm a big oil FAT CAT--our profits are record breaking once again--and I just want to remind you that Rusp Limpdick agrees with me that there is no oil shortage, no rampant (quasi-legal) speculation on oil prices, or any truth to the pesky drive-by fears of "Global Warming"...heh heh...yeah...everything's okay..just keep driving and filling up! :D

Well gosh, we better lower those capital gains taxes some more--and pronto! And as for all those new refineries being built, well we better offer some more enticing subsidies and...well tax-breaks...
Okay then, thanks for setting me straight.

Somebody should do some exploratory drilling in that dude's neck.
We could probably reduce our foreign oil dependence by 50% or more by tapping that deposit.

Nice job going Patrick Ewing on your argument.

Yes. This is a constant when investing. It takes money to make money.BSmack wrote:They SPEND more so they have to MAKE more.
And you have a problem with a privately held company making large profits for their share holders because of...?

For the record, their stock dropped about 5%-after they anounced record profits.LTS TRN 2 wrote:Hi, I'm a big oil FAT CAT--our profits are record breaking once again--and I just want to remind you that Rusp Limpdick agrees with me that there is no oil shortage, no rampant (quasi-legal) speculation on oil prices, or any truth to the pesky drive-by fears of "Global Warming"...heh heh...yeah...everything's okay..just keep driving and filling up! :D
Let's make a deal. You get all your commie anti-American pals to make Pelosi let us actually drill for oil, and I won't tell my ZOG buddies where you live.
Deal?

Feel free to highlight any industry which does not pass on increased operating costs to customers and be sure to lock up when you leave.
I think that what he was trying to say is that he wants free healthcare, free food, free gas, free cars, and all that money he pays really does grow on trees. The government will and should take care of everything.

I don't have a problem with profit. I have a problem when record profit comes in part due to tax breaks we have given to the oil companies and as oil and gas prices have risen to record levels.War Wagon wrote:Yes.
