Shine suicide watch....

It has been reported that Mike Davis WILL be back at IU next year. After Davis takes IU to the Sweet 16 next year, will Hoosier fans still hate him???

Indiana is young team and will be getting some strong players via transfers...give Davis a chance to coach some of the talent he's bringing in. If they miss the tournament next year with the skill he'll have, he should be gone.

Press conference today to announce he'll be here for at least another year.

I agree 100%.
"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

Haven't read the local Pravda but gist I get is that Davis will be expected to contend for Big 10 title and a make a significant post season showing....or he'll be shown the door. I can see it now though......IU will finish 2nd or 3rd in conference, then win a game in the Big 10 tournament and one or maybe two games in the NCAA's. All decent accomplishments but nothing stellar, then they'll go through the same thing again...to fire or not to fire. Same story, different year.

That's the way it is with Alford here at Iowa....

He is always just about to be fired, then the fucker goes out and does something to keep his job. It's gotten ridiculous.

Both Alford and Davis should have to contend for a Big-10 title and neither should have to make a run in the Big-10 tourney to make the Big Dance or they should be fired after next season. No excuses. Both have a lot of players coming back. Iowa doesn't have any seniors other than a white-boy walkon.

The criteria for Alford and Davis next year should be pretty much the same.

10-6 in the Big-10 or better
6 seed in the NCAA tournament or better
20+ regular season wins
Top 30 RPI

Anything less for either=fired.
