My grandfather passed away very recently. No BS here. The funeral fell the day before my vacation. He has been suffering for years and is now in a better place. Alzheimer’s is a bitch of a disease. I did get the opportunity to spend his last days with him while he was in hospice care. It was a wonderful facility and they definitely made his last days comfortable. He held my hand with all he had left. We watched a ballgame together, one of his favorite things when he was still himself. It was nice if not touching.

At one point he was quite uncomfortable and I excused myself while the orderly checked and changed him. When I returned, I asked if everything was all right. He said "Everything is fine. He was very uncomfortable, but I wiped another Bobby42 take off of him. He's relaxed now." I thanked him and slipped him a $20. No man should ever have to endure that shit.
