RIP Don Haskins

Post by Adelpiero »

a great in a sport filled with so many dirt balls.

he had some very good teams while at UTEP, and was an all around good guy. Met him while on vacation in Florida one year, he was absolutely trilled to talk bball and college sports, regardless of his time schedule, and constraints he had, but appreciated us as fans of college sports fans and was nothing but nice and cordial.

decent article by Wetzel. the movie sucked, was better for it's soundtrack. typical Disney cliche underdog sports movie.

my late granddad played semi-bro baseball with and against Don Haskins...and they were friends. my graddad was in the Cards and Cubs minor league system after WWII and was a big Sooner guy while Haskins was a Hank Iba disciple. I'm an OU guy but my G-paw always referred to Hank Iba as Mr. Iba....and i will always respect that.
