A question for liberals/democrats
Why are you guys so afraid of Sarah Palin? Is there a reason? I won't attribute it to sexism, yet, but it's very odd to see this fear. It does beg the question, don't you think a woman can be VP? But, again, I won't say it's sexism yet. Surely there is another reason. Thanks in advance. I look forward to reading your responses.

Re: A question for liberals/democrats
Your question is a fallacy in action. Nobody I know is "afraid" of Sara Palin. Especially after she has so "distinguished" herself during the last month. With any luck, Palin will be the death knell for the GOP's strategy of running complete imbeciles with warped world views for high office.

But they are. The actions in dealing with her are enough proof that they fear her. Biden was at least respectful in the debate. If she was an 'imbecile', then why try to get rid of her at all? You should just let her be what she is. However, she is not an 'imbecile'. She's actually quite bright and articulate. However, they can't deal with her on that level because they fear her. Sad. And I just want to know why the fear. Now, please answer the question or leave it to others to answer.BSmack wrote:Your question is a fallacy in action. Nobody I know is "afraid" of Sara Palin. Obama knows he's on thin ice for the biggest job in the country, and so do all the democratic news channels and Obama supporters. There is not a clear winner yet. People tired of Bush who truly believe that Mccain is a clone replacement will do, say, & dig up anything, even resorting to investigating Palins children, to try and discredit her.battery chucka' one wrote:But they are. Typical politics, that's all. In a close race, any of those sleazeballs will do or say anything for an edge.
BTW - both VP candidates were somewhat less than factual during that debate. Saying a half truth or not presenting the whole picture seems to be standard practice these days.

You sound like the people in those Tsunami videos who all watch the wall of water rush towards them, completely oblivious to it's meaning. While I sure don't want anyone to stop working for Obama, this election is effectively over. The Republicans have lost what the Chinese used to call the "Mandate of Heaven". Only chance McCain has is if the focus gets off the economy. And even if it does anyone who's hurting financially now thats still undecided or an indie is going to have a hard time voting for the party that's had the presidency for the last 8 years. Tough row to hoe for Johnny MacBSmack wrote:You sound like the people in those Tsunami videos who all watch the wall of water rush towards them, completely oblivious to it's meaning. Sarah is in full-fledged attack mode now which is what the VP candidate is supposed to be doing, not hiding from interviews. (As much as I am a fan of hers, her explanation to Cameron about the Couric interviews was straight up lame and awful derned convenient after the fact)
You thought they were after her before...?
They finally listened to Hannity and it is ON now.
I don't know how it's going to end up, but it is going to be FUN.

This is where we can all thank Hillary. We've already been down this road during the primaries. You think the average voter wants to hear all this crap again? McCain is going to wind up sounding like George Bush back in 92 when he was reduced to calling Clinton/Gore "bozos" .poptart wrote:B.O.'s about to, imo, get the living crap hammered out of him over his character and past associations.rozy wrote:I don't know how it's going to end up, but it is going to be FUN.

Good entertainment for sure. I told you fuckers a while ago this was going to be a blowout. Now deal with it.

Interesting.... Care to give any links for these accusations (from nonpartisan sources, of course)? Also, I'll assume you misposted in your last line and won't hold you to it.Believe the Heupel wrote:I'm not afraid of Sarah Palin in the slightest.battery chucka' one wrote:Why are you guys so afraid of Sarah Palin? I think she's an intelligent woman who shows a shocking lack of curiosity about world events for someone who aspires for high office.
I think she's a person who promises ethics reform who seems to have no idea what ethics means, as evidenced by her multiple uses of any elected office she's managed to hold to punish her personal enemies and reward her friends. It's kind of odd to be living in a state that seems to be run by the Wasilla High 1983 student council.
Yes, I think a woman can be VP. But just because she's a woman means she should BE VP.

Mudslinging only works when you have two conditions present.mvscal wrote:Yes. No holds barred mudslinging works. Look what it did to Palin. On...igger is far more vulnerable to it. 1. The mud being slung creates a feeling of shock, that somehow the candidate being smeared is not the person he or she has been portraying themselves to be.
2. The candidate being smeared is unwilling or unable to fight back in a timely fashion.
You have neither condition present at this time.

oh, they need to keep it going, but mCloon needs to make the case that Ojigaboo's socialst plans will only make things worse- the same way FDR's socialist policies kept the great depression going for a full decade longer than necessary.

US GDP rose steadily from 1933 (when FDR took office) until 1937. In fact, by 1937, US GDP had already eclipsed it's 1928 level. There was a one year decline in 1937-38 where the GDP declined slightly only to emerge even stronger in the years leading up to WWII.Cuda wrote:...the same way FDR's socialist policies kept the great depression going for a full decade longer than necessary.

Re: A question for liberals/democrats
you only prove my point, monica.
by 1937, the depression took a second bite out of the economy.
by 1938, even FDR's socialist "brain-trust" decided to back off some of the socialism in favor of ramping up that military-industrial complex you're otherwise so terrified of.
and nobody- not even the most ardent FDR jizz garglers- makes the claim that the country was coming out of the depression in the early 1930's

Africa will be a key strategic focus point in coming years - it already is of course - but will be so even more in the very near future.
Having Obama as President will bode well for this and presumably for the country. Anyone doubting Obama's clout need only look to today's headlines. After 8 years of lies, threats, and slander directed towards W - a man not deserving of any respect apparently - it's time the world RECOGNIZE.
They are.
RACK Kenya for setting a new trend and ushering in a new era of RESPECT for American Presidents.

I wasn't. I was creatively writing about a dude who was detained for researching some "TRUTH" about a future President. Juxtaposing it against all the research and rumour of "TRUTH" about W.Goober McTuber wrote: The man is one of the worst presidents we’ve ever had. Quit apologizing for him.
Yes, I leaned towards the absurd. W's incompetence wasn't being defended.
At least that wasn't my intent. When it comes to W I had faith he was acting in the best interests - as defined by Clinton's Administration, the congress during that administration AND his own and the congress in 2002 - of this country. That's the only thing I staunchly defended.
If you listen to Obama - clearly - he would have chimed in for it as well. His approach to Iran is almost identical to the approach we tried to use with Saddam.
