KC Chefs -- move Diaper Boy or T Gonz ??
What say you, Chef fan?

~ “By the time the Chiefs are good again, he’s (Diaper Boy) going to be done. … I don’t understand why they gave him all the money and then they wouldn’t sign Jared Allen. If you’re rebuilding, you don’t do it with a running back who’s going to be burned.” Another executive said Johnson has a reputation around the league as being a “spoiled brat” and “not much of a leader.” ~
I very much agree with that.

They should trade Gonzalez to a real NFL team in appreciation for what he’s given them over the years.

Gonzo will retire as a Chief, period. 10 year contract out front shoulda' told ya'. Of all the long term contracts King Carl has pissed away over the years, Tony's has been money well spent.Goober McTuber wrote:They should trade Gonzalez to a real NFL team in appreciation for what he’s given them over the years.
And TG doesn't have a damn thing to regret, either... other than not getting the all time yardage mark at Arrowhead, in a win, against the hated Mules. That would have been special. Instead, he breaks the record in a whitewash at Carolina, which seemed kinda' unremarkable at the time.
Re: KC Chefs -- move Diaper Boy or T Gonz ??
I'd like to see them send Tony to a playoff team, dude has earned one last shot at it, but it won't happen.
And what do you really think the Cheaps could get for him or Grandmama?
Maybe a 3rd rd. choice tops -

Well, other than the chance to play on a team that might get to the Super Bowl.War Wagon wrote:Gonzo will retire as a Chief, period. 10 year contract out front shoulda' told ya'. They could get rid of Diaper Boy's LARGE contract and have someone else carry the rock.Scott wrote:And what do you really think the Cheaps could get for him or Grandmama?

Someone who acts like they've got a heart.
A 3rd might now seem like much for Johnson, but imagine if he were to get hurt or even go in the tank more than he already is.
Then what can you get for him?
It was a dumb idea to ink him to a new deal.
I'd cut my losses right now, while you're rebuilding ... but that's just me.

If he won a Super Bowl, please tell me that KC have a parade a la Boston with Ray Borque after he won a Stanley Cup with the Avs. Because that would just be gay. Really, really gay.

You know, I never really understood why the Chiefs gave Larry Johnson that big contract (when they had other good RBs on their roster) and then denied Jared Allen one.

And the hits just keep on coming, what a bummer. Word is that KC wants at least a 3rd round pick but nobody wants to give up that much.
Unreal.
While I understand TG wanting to finish his career with a contender and perhaps win a SB ring, it's really gonna' suck seeing him wear another teams jersey.
siiiigh....
On the bright side, since I've got him on my JFFL team, maybe he'll wind up on a team that can actually get him the ball. Small condolence for losing a 1st ballot HoF'er.

...exactly what the pre-game hacks talked about Sunday. Johnson is a whinner and Gonz wants to go to a team with a chance for a Ring. The Cheaps are willing to take a 3rd. rounder for him. Hell, that's a no freeking brainer. We've all seen what Gonzo can do and I gotta think he still has a few gallons left in the tank. I would't mind seeing the Bolts pick him up what with Gates hobbling with a hip pointer and toe problem. A third rounder??? pull the trigger, you don't get a HOFer for a 3rd. every day.

I've heard rumor that Arizona may be willing to trade Lienart for Gonzo and some draft pick(s).

Word out of Green Bay is that they offered KC a 3rd for Gonzalez, Chefs wanted a 2nd. Ted Thompson told them to go fuck themselves, an area where they apparently have vast experience.

From fanball
I can't wait until this fuck packs his shit and vacates One Arrowhead drive. In the meantime, it's really fucking hard being a Chiefsfan.
Just another example in a long line of arrogant decisions, or in this case, non-decision, coming from the asshat known as King Carl. It seems he won't be satisfied until he's alienated every last coach, player, and fan of this team while running the franchise into the ground.Tony Gonzalez didn't get traded at the deadline, and he's not happy about it, according to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer. "I'm shocked," he said. "It didn't make sense not to do this deal. It's winding down for me and this team is rebuilding... Last night I talked to Carl (Peterson, Chiefs President and GM) and I point-blank asked him what it would take to get it done. I wanted to know if it could happen with a fourth (-round pick). He started talking about a second and a fifth like the Shockey deal. Nobody is going to trade a second for a 32-year-old tight end. All along Carl said he would do something that works for both parties. Then he talked about how he traded a third for Willie Roaf, and he made it pretty clear to me that's what was going to get it done. That was certainly fair. I know teams offered a third and in the end, Carl made the asking price a second. I'm very disappointed that he didn't go through with it after he told me he was going to try to make it happen. I've been around this league a long time, it's a business. There's nothing I can do about it. I was pissed off about it, but I'll get over it. I won't let it affect my play and my preparation."
Our View
Gonzalez is right. A third-round pick in exchange for him would have made sense for the Chiefs and any of the teams the Chiefs were talking to. He's at least stated that he'll get over it and won't let his anger affect his play.

Re: KC Chefs -- move Diaper Boy or T Gonz ??
Both Gonzo and DB should have been dealt.
DB should have never been signed to a new deal in the first place.
And mark my words, he's going to be a big problem (one way or another) for KC later this year or next year for sure.
The only reason to hold on to Gonzo (when you could get something for him) is the "He's a career Chief" jerk off rationalization that really only makes sense if you're 11 yrs old or younger.

But I did come around eventually to realize that the best thing was to cut him loose and get something in return.
As is, KC is left with a disgruntled HOF'er just playing out the string. Hopefully, the few fans who still show up at Arrowhead will give him incentive to play.
Re: KC Chefs -- move Diaper Boy or T Gonz ??
Not to worry, wags-us Raiderfans are getting dryfucked by our owner/GM/Defensive coordinator, and the latest example of this is the Roy Williams trade with the Lions. This was actually talked about as a move the Raiders had contacted Detroit about making before signing Walker......lo and behold, not only would we have been in 10 times better shape if we give Walkers $$$ to him, we wouldnt have had a high draft pick to give to Atlanta for Degulpaload Hall, who is nothing more than Fabian Washington II. We then could have used that Hall $$$ to give to Aso (who is being dicked around by Al Charles Woodson style), and not have a 55 million dollar shitstain in Walker riding the goddamn pine.
Yes, you heard that correctly-Walker and Curry's sorry asses have been benched in facor of Todd Watkins and Chaz "best 80's name ever" Schillens.
Fucking unbelievable.
Kelly is nothing more than solid, yet is the highest paid DT in the fucking game. Christ.
So as bad as you cats feel in KC, Raider Nation feels just as bad here in Cali. Both of our horrific teams are vitrually unwatchable.

Re: KC Chefs -- move Diaper Boy or T Gonz ??
James, I agree with the general tone of your Raider criticism, but I would modify it a little.
Kelly -- Good player, but overpaid for sure. Case of Oakland needing him more than him needing Oakland. So ... he got paid ... A LOT. lol
Hall -- Horrible opening game of the season. He's still giving up more catches than I want to see, BUT ... he is, imo, a significant upgrade over F. Washington. Hall is quite good in run support, where Washington was really lacking. Hall will make some plays too. Overall, I'd do this trade again if offered.
Walker -- pfft ... this is horrible. Russell has no viable WR to throw to. Walker was 'recovering' from a knee when we signed him, so it wasn't a given that he'd produce a lot for us early on. Yep, that's what's happening. He's pretty much a ZERO so far. How much is he gettin' paid?? Good grief, this is VERY bad so far.
Wilson -- VERY good signing. Solid player, solid dude. Keep up the good work.
I see M. Huff is benched.
What was he, a #7 overall pick? lol -- crying
Once again, our scouting dept is NAILS
------------->> Al
Lookin' at you, big guy.
McFadden seems to be 100% for this week's game.
We need him.
I'm depressed so far watching our offense, and the way we gameplan.
As lackluster as our receivers are, and as much as Russell is still feeling his way around, why aren't we using our backs more in the passing game?
Bush and McFadden are BOTH very good this way.
I know ... Al has never been a big 'screen pass' guy.
Coach has spoken.
