Sure, it's just another GOP corporate whore being trotted off the stage in handcuffs. But, let's take a moment to savor the particulars. As the longest serving GOP member in the senate, his disgrace and pending imprisonment provides a clear and resounding rebuff to the demented designs of Karl Rove, who sought to implement a "permanent" GOP majority in the senate and house. Nothing says "Fuck You, Karl" better than relegating the Cheney/Chimp cabal to the deepest septic tank of history, and Ted Stephens to felch Randy "Duke" Cunningham when the lights go out. And of course, another reletively sane (i.e., demo) senator is always welcome.
