I gotta disagree....
I give Colorado State the nod, based on head to head.
Akron is also a solid choice.

m2,
Scott has been injured and running behind a makeshift line. So far, he's been totally outplayed by an unknown, 3-star midget from Ohio, but I'm not ready to call him a bust just yet. I'm pretty sure there's a reason 60+ FBS schools offered him a scholly.
T,
I'm pretty sure CSU would beat the Buffs by 10+ right now. Haven't seen Akron play, but I wouldn't bet against them.

the Missouri game was a fucking disgrace. Hawkins made it clear that a loss was inevitable and he was just going to lie back and enjoy the assraping he was going to get. And the team obviously picked up on it.
Cody is clearly no longer the best QB on the team and the Hansen kid clearly isn't ready for more than a few plays per game. IN the time his daddy has been in charge, the buffs have actually regressed- they have no running game, no kicking game, no passing game, no O-line, no D-line, and pretty much no pass defense. There comes a point where you have to stop using inexperience as an excuse. They keep having to play freshmen because the sophomores & juniors Hawkins has recruited the last few years aren't worth a shit.

Is it to early to celebrate the potential of the Fluffalos sitting around the fireplace playing Kenny Loggins' "Home for the Holiday's?" :D :D :D
I was hoping we could return the favor this year much to your mom's delight.

it's entirely possible that the day-after-thanksgiving game will be the only game the buffs will win the rest of the season

Nah dont see that, CSU lost by 3 TDs to the Buffs.MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan wrote: T,

CSU hasnt improved. They just barely got by a SDSU team that is 1-7 and lost to Cal-Poly.
The buffs would still beat CSU by atleast 2 TDs.

I have to disagree with this, based on the remaining schedule if nothing else:Cornhusker wrote:Is it to early to celebrate the potential of the Fluffalos sitting around the fireplace playing Kenny Loggins' "Home for the Holiday's?" :D :D :D
Sat, Nov 1 at Texas A&M
Sat, Nov 8 Iowa State
Sat, Nov 15 (9) Oklahoma State
Fri, Nov 28 at Nebraska
The way I see it, that's two wins (@ aTm and vs. Iowa State), one loss (vs. Oklahoma State) and one tossup (@ Nebraska). That means either a 6-6 or 7-5 season. With the Big XII all but guaranteed an at-large BCS bid, that means nine bowl bids available for the Big XII, and I don't see Iowa State, aTm or Baylor getting to bowl eligibility. Colorado figures to go bowling somewhere, provided that they're not upset in the next two weeks, although it obviously will be to a lower-tier bowl.

if you've seen much of CU the last 3-4 weeks, they are so bad on offense* there's no way they are a fave for the W on the road at ATM. they just can't score. at all. and last week at MU, they quit 5 minutes into the game. they couldn't line up and run plays most of the game. it was one of the single worst performances i've ever seen. pathetic. Chattanooga looked more formidable against OU in week 1, they could at least run their plays and didn't quit.Terry in Crapchester wrote:I have to disagree with this, based on the remaining schedule if nothing else:Cornhusker wrote:Is it to early to celebrate the potential of the Fluffalos sitting around the fireplace playing Kenny Loggins' "Home for the Holiday's?" :D :D :D

*loss of 4 starters on OL since Spring, bad QB's, bad scheme and playcalling, weird coaching re: personnel (who's going to get touches at WR this week?)....bad combination.

Re: Colorado is the worst .500 team in the nation...
There was a time when I thought the aTm game was a gimmie, but like KC said, the offense has been so awful over the past 4-5 games than even the home game against ISU is no gimmie anymore. Hawkins MO seems to be if your starting QB is struggling, just say "fuck it" and throw in the fast kid. We saw this his first year with Bernard Jackson and now he's doing it again with Tyler Hansen. Meanwhile, he's got a 6'4" kid with an actual arm sitting on the bench and presumably mulling his transfer options. Don't get me wrong, I'm not even sure you could put Peyton Manning behind that O-line and accomplish much, but I really don't get why Hawkins would burn Hansen's redshirt without at least giving Ballenger some quality (uh, yeah, I'm using that word loosely) playing time.

Re: Colorado is the worst .500 team in the nation...
i haven't been reading the CU boards much being busy but i don't get where Ballenger went on the depth chart. I think Hanson has some upside but you can't run that called QB draw as your bread and butter play. DC's figure that out pretty quick. Having been to a couple scrimmages, Ballenger is the only one who can throw a deep ball of any mention.
but, neither of those guys can beat 85% of BCS teams without some running game and play action....and they just can't block anybody. MU lined up two guys on the TE all night and collapsed the pocket almost before the snap got to the QB.
i've been saying Helfrich is in over his head since last year....I'm no genius but the playcalling sucks. and plays that work, look like mistakes.

Well, one thing is certain - in about 14 hours Colorado will no longer be the worst .500 team in the nation.

Dan Hawkins is John Blake bad. HElfrich is calling an end around on the ATM 2? quit trying to outsmart everyone and just run plays.
this team sucks. I'm real sorry Mike....but, these guys beat themselves every chance they get.

I can't see any posible way that Hawkins has NOT lost the confidence of his team.
He's clearly shaking up his QB rotation for the pure fuck sake of shaking it up- doing it just to be doing it
Play calling just flat out sucks
They're not improving from week to week- not even a little bit

Question:Adelpiero wrote:is CU and nebraska back yet?
Who's no more than 3 points better than Baylor?
Who's not won an outright conference championship in 48 years? That'd be 1960.
Hint:
It's the same team for both questions. You don't need to look too far for the answer.

Not after the aTm game.
Dan Hawkins is a cancer on the program. I doubt if they could even beat the corn now- even if they get past Iowa State this week, OK State is going to totally break their spirit. From then on, they'll be looking for new ways to lose.
