Hat tip to this Just Out for getting an interview with what looks to be the country's first trans-identified Mayor .

Stu Rasmussen was the mayor of Silverton, Oregon in the late 80's and early 90's. He's also ran for state office.

But that was when he looked like a dude .

You have to understand Silverton..a nothing town with not a whole lot going on...so the locals have to get their laffs where and when they can.

Small town politics are a fucking joke, and this just confirms that. The local news hit this story about 2 days straight showing dude, errrr dudette swinging down the street.

Makes for an interesting City Council meeting I am sure..

Last time I remember being in Silverton, I went with a friend to pick up an ATV he was buying.

Met the seller at his house, but we had to drive to dude's work, where the ATV was stored.

He worked at a bug farm.... where the breed and raise... you guessed'er -- bugs. Bait, lizard food, that sort of thing.

And it still seemed pretty upscale for Silverton.

I give credit where credit is due. Kalamazoo has a well-earned reputation for producing great beer and numerous drooling fucktards. Rack you for placing examples of each in such close proximity.

Tell you what, I'll help you and Goobs out with a little geography (and I'll try to spell everything correctly while doing so)...

The Sierra Nevada, for which Sierra Nevada Brewing is named...

Isn't in the U&L, dumbass.

The particular portion of the Sierra where the beer is brewed would be in Chico... California.

Which isn't in the U&L.

Goobs, you are an idiot.

1) Anybody with a pallete for good beer knows that "seasonal brews" from the larger breweries are typically crap.

2) Sierra Nevada has taken a turn for the worse the last few years since they sold out to Anheuser-Busch

3) Sierra Nevada is brewed in Chico, CA.

Sorry to step on your toes Dins.

Oh please, Dins, it’s close enough to the border to earn honorary U&L status. BTW, I happen to think Sierra Nevada in general and the Celebration Ale in particular is a decent enough beer for the price (GFY a-dad). Just not as good as Two Hearted.

Bull fucking shit..its 500 miles or better into CA..nothing CA will make honorary status in OR..Dins's smoke is probably better than some of that CA shit..

But if Arnold and his homeboys have their way.... it will be brewed with Oregon water.....someday..sooner than later...I fucking piss in your water

and atomicdad..you don't know fuck all about seasonal beers from Oregon's micro brews..some of these seasonal ales are fucking awesome..if a bit high in calorie content

The State of Jefferson was fo'real.

They did everything required to seceed from Oregon and california, jumped through all of the legal hoops, and even elected a mayor.

And they even presented their well-covered legal paperwork to form a new state to Congress...

On December 6th, 1941.

Timing... not so good.

Just to put your stupidity/backpedal/geographical ignorance into perspective.

Hell, I'm not sure I consider Caldera to be U&L Brew... and they're in Medford, Oregon.

I said Chico was close enough to the border to earn honorary U & L status, not that it was a suburb of Portland. Kind of like you calling everything between the two coasts "flyover country". We're not a Chicago suburb, we're their vacation destination.

I pointed out to Derron that it was about 200 miles from the border. It's acually slightly less. You really get bent out of shape by any association with Californians, don't you?

Well, that, and the fact that Chico is in an entirely fucking different region of the country, complete with geographical boundaries and whatsuch.

And I have no "association" with californians, save for a shared border that's deliniated by large mountain ranges.

Still working the backpedal?
